  1. Hi Cajun,

I have decided the VSG surgery is the right one for me due to other physical problems and medications I need to take daily. I have really checked this out through this VS forum and doctors.

All of the doctor's around my area want a program fee of between $3-4K for their support program that is not covered by insurance.

My insurance will cover lap or RNY but not the sleeve. Darn it.

Dr Aceves FACS looks the best to me. Did you have a good experience with him? Did they test you for H-pylori before surgery? Hernias? etc...

Does he fix these things if needed while in there? Extra charges?

Maybe it would be a good idea to just take the meds for the H-Pylori prophylac in case you had it prior to surgery. If you have a problem after surgery with Aceves will he take you back to repair it? Charge you?

Do you need to take the Nexium or some acid reducer forever?Help please with any information anyone can spare.

Scared but not enough not to do it!

    Thanks,

    Christina
