Hi I was banded around the same time as you. I have pulling/discomfort where the port is located. It seems to be getting better with time.

Wow. great information! Thanks -
I sit on my butt all day too, but I had really bad gas pain (really really bad). There is no way I could have been back to work after a few days. I was also weak (probably from the liquid diet), and tended to get a bit lightheaded. I took a week off, then for the second week shorten my days to 6 hours.

I had bad gas pain for 10 days after surgery. With walking it got worse before getting amazing better. Hot drinks worked well for me, especially pepermint tea...or a pepermint droped in some hot water. It gets better I promise! I am 5 weeks post surgery and feeling great (20lbs down). Still get some gas pain now and then but I'm used to it now. Good luck!

Hi. I had my band placed the same time as you (9/22). I too had tenderness and was worried about it recently so called in for a wound check. They asked my if the wound area was warm/hot to touch which is a sign of infection. Mine was just sore from sitting more than usual (and putting pressure on my belly botton where the incision is). I think that if you are unsure, it never hurts to call your doctor or even your GP. Good luck!

Hi, I was banded 22/08/09 and just started on the mushy food stage. I tried mushed broccoli and I was in agony with gas pain. Anyone else have problems with gas pain still...and are there any other foods I should avoid?

Hi, Mine took 2 weeks to get back to normal. I found walking helpful and also took chewable gas pills which really helped. Pepermint tea was also a life saver. I'm 3 weeks out now and pretty much back to normal. I still feel a bit of gas after eating/drinking but it seems to move much easier now.

Things do get better! I was banded 22nd of August. I was tired all the time for the first week, then was able to geo back to work the second week (although I could only work for about 4 hours because of the lack of energy). Here at week 3 post-op I feel great and energy is almost normal. I am still going #2 every 4 days but started drinking 1/4 glass of prune juice everynight which seems to be really helping....if you can stand the tast. 22lbs and counting!
