    BCBS IL

I see on here that a few have gotten their tummy tucks paid for by insurance. I was wondering if anyone has had BCBS IL (PPO) approve a tummy tuck? Thanks in advance Dore

    Discouraged

I was banded about the same time as you (7/30/09). I still count my calories every day so I know where I am. I try to stay at 1200 calories and remember to eat lots of protein. Also, I wear a bodybugg (you can google it if you don't know what it is) so I see where I am as far as steps taken and calories burned. I find it to be motivating. Good Luck.
  8. That's great. Congrats!
  9. Don't freak yourself out. I'm with the rest of the posts. I was banded 7/30/09 as an outpatient. I was pretty groggy that day which was a Thursday. Took pain meds as need on Friday. Was up and about on Saturday and Sunday and went back to work on Monday. You will be just fine. Good luck!!

Natalieg-- You mention that your surgery was on July 29th. I assume of 2010, right? You are doing just fine. I don't think that you are getting enough protein with your Lean Cuisines, however. Water intake along with a high protein diet is key. I was banded July 30th of 2009 and it took my body awhile to get used to the band, the diet, and exercise. The other thing that helps me keep on track is the bodybugg. Quite a few people on this site use it. The bodybugg along with the band is just a tool, but a very useful one. Go easy on yourself and keep on moving and making the correct food choices. You will get there.
  11. I didn't lose any weight and I was accepted. Good luck!

    Plastic surgery date

I had my surgery July 30, 2009 and would LOVE to have plastic surgery, but just can't afford it at this point in time. I am very excited for you. Good luck and keep us posted!!

The grass really IS greener in Onederville!!!

    Congrats!!!!
  14. Claire-- I was banded in July 09. I've lost 72lbs and have had 4 fills. The last fill was in March 2010 and was way too tight, so I got an unfill the first week in April 2010. Things have been going well until about 10 days ago. I'm not sure why, but all of a sudden I can't get anything down including Water. I ended up meeting my surgeon in the ER last nite to get a slight unfill (again). He took out 1/2 of a cc. I waited for over a week because I kept thinking it was going to get better plus I, like you, feared gaining weight with an unfill, but what happened was that I dehydrated myself. The other posts are so true....it doesn't matter how much is in your band as long as you have restriction. I'm on this site all the time, but rarely post; however, this just happened to me last night and thought I should share. Take care, Dore
  15. jensmallwood -- Go to myapex.com. I've had mine since September and have never paid a monthly fee for the website. In fact I had a problem with my bodybugg a few weeks ago. They replaced it free of charge PLUS added 3 more free months to my subscription. They are a very nice company to deal with.
