Congrats. Isn't the bodtbugg great?! Dore

What a horrible thing to say. That's great that you decided to get the band. It sounds like you know what you have to do....exercise and watch what you eat. I recently got the Bodybugg and I find it to be very helpful. It keeps track for me. Don't get down on yourself. Keep pushing forward.

It took me less than a week to find out. I have to say that I was denied at first, but then I had to go back and jump thru bc/bs hoops. When I resubmitted in 6/09 it was no more than a week to get approved.

I am from IL and have bcbs and I am happy to say that I was approved. I must admit that I did jump thru hoops, but nonetheless, I was approved. My fingers are crossed for you both. Good Luck Dore

I'm new to this site which I find so inspirational. I was banded one week ago today and am doing pretty well. I lost 10lbs on my pre-op diet, but only 1lb since I have had the band on (one week). I thought living on chicken broth, water and protein drinks would have merited a greater loss, but not so. :sneaky:

Here is what my pre-op diet consisted of daily: 3 Low Carb protein drinks (one for breakfast, one for lunch and one for snack after dinner) I drink EAS. I don't mind the taste at all. I could have all the water with crystal lite I wanted. For dinner I could have a frozen meal between 300-350 calories (i.e., Lean Cuisine). I also could have 6oz glass of tomato juice or V8. It wasn't easy, but it was doable. Try to stay busy and not focus on your hunger. I hope this helps. Dore

What is your trouble with the liquid diet? Is it that your are always hungry or you just don't like the taste of the protein drinks?

Hi All-- Everything is going pretty well. It's a slow process, but it's coming off. Good Luck! Dore

Don't worry about what your family may or may not say. You are doing this for you. Stay focused on you -- for once. Dore

I am here for you. I had the surgery 7/30 and am so happy. Please ask me any questions. I will put all your fears to rest. Dore

Welcome!! You are doing great. 60lbs is tremendous. Keep up the good work. I was banded 7/30 and have lost 22lbs. I also find this site to be so informative. Dore

Thanks for all the words of encouragement. Mrsyellis, I was banded July 30th and found this site to be so incredibly helpful. For instance, after surgery I had the worse shoulder pain ever. For whatever reason, I never put the connection of sugery together with the pain in my shoulder, but as it turns out it, the surgery was the culprit. There is a wealth of information and inspriation on here. Take care, Dore
