    Anyone banded around 10-14-09?

I was banded on Oct. 19th 2009. I have lost 72 lbs. since starting the liquid diet. I found out on my 2nd fill that my port is leaking and that I can only keep about 3 cc in my 14 cc band. I'm still following my 1200-1500 calorie diet and exercising 7 days a week for about an 1.5-2 hrs. a day. I've been training to run a half marathon in April. My biggest problem is that I'm hungry all the time and I have no restriction. Hopefully soon they can get my port fixed and I'll finally get to feel restriction.

I had to wait 90 days as well for my first fill. I found out my band was leaking on my first fill. Loss of restriction after a few days of the fill were my signs. I have to have dye injected into the band and port in a week to see where it is leaking at. Once they find out where I'll have to go back under the knife for surgery. I was pretty hungry right before I received my first fill and my weight was at a stand still for a few weeks. I just made sure that I was following 1200-1500 calories a day, exercising 1/2 or more a day and drinking my water and the weight started to come off again. Believe it or not the water seemed to help me a lot.

Hi Mrs. Mario! I was banded on Oct. 19, 2009 by Dr. Duckett. I too am looking for a support group outside of the internet. I just found out that my Lapband or port has a leak. So I'm a little discouraged.

  5. I'm about 5 and a half weeks post op. I have lost 30 lbs. since surgery. I noticed in the last 2 weeks my weight loss has slowed to about 2-3 lbs. per week. Unfortunately my insurance will only let me have a fill every 3 months so I have to wait for my first fill until late Jan. 2010. I have noticed my hunger increasing between meals but I'm sticking to a 1200 calorie diet and exercising 5 days a week for about 1-2 hours a day. Good Luck!
  6. I too have the GoWear Fit. I purchased it last Feb. and I can't go a day without it. Since I purchased the band I have lost 80 lbs. I had surgery about 3 weeks ago. It's great going to the gym and knowing how many calories your burning. It's a great tool. Any questions let me know.

  8. Hello, I was recently banded on Oct. 19th 2009. Dr. Duckett did my surgery. I was asking his office staff about a support group and all that was said was that the were working on it. I'm intrested in helping start one if there is enough people interested. Hope all is well. Jeremy
  9. I was banded on Oct. 19th and my port is just a little to the left of the bottom of my sternum. Still a little sore once in awhile but it's getting better everyday.
  10. I had my surgery on Oct. 19th 2009 and today is one week and I feel a lot better than I did a few days ago. My biggest problem so far is that I have to remember to sip my liquids. I'm so used to gulping my liquids that I forgot a few times and I felt the pain right away. But today I'm feeling great.
  11. I also had my band on Oct. 19th 2009. I didn't have any bandages my wounds were just Durmabonded (Superglued) together. I had a problem with my cuts being itchy so I started taking liquid Benadryl. It stopped the itching and It helps me sleep at night.
  12. Thanks Mybandjourney2009.! My do. Has put me on a clear liquid only diet for 1 week. I'm at day 3 and I'm doing ok. I've lost 9 lbs so far in 3 days. Last week I was on a 1200 calorie diet. I've been eating strained ramen noodle broth and eating sugar free jello mostly. Drinking lots of water. Thanks for the good wishes!

  14. I have a surgery date of Oct. 19th 2009. Started my liquid diet yesterday.
  15. I went to the Surgeon on Monday and they submitted the info to my Insurance for approval. The surgeons office said that I might hear back by the end of the week. Got the mail today and there was my approval letter. Hopefully some time next week I'll have a surgery date. ~Jeremy
  16. I've been doing a low carb diet for about 3 monthes now. I decided to go with the LapBand process but have stuck on the diet until I'm told weather or not I'm going to be banded and weather my Doctor wants me to stop eating low carb. I have lost around 45 lbs in the last 3 monthes by only eating 20-30 carbs a day. The first week was the tough but after that the cravings for carbs go away. Good Luck!
  17. Hi everyone! I've been lurking for a few weeks now. I've been thinking about getting a Lapband for about 2 or 3 years now and I finally got tired of the ups and downs of dieting and started the process. Last week I went to my Primary Care Physician and he refered me to Lap Band surgeon. My BMI is 41. Had high blood pressure until I lost 50 Lbs and exercise daily. I have high Cholesterol and a family history of heart attacks at a young age. After seeing my PCP I went to a seminar that the surgeon was putting on. The seminar was very interesting, met a few nice people there and got a lot of info from the Doc and Staff. I was told that my insurance was one of the "easier" insurance companies to deal with when it came to LapBands. I then scheduled my Psych Evaluation. I called my Insurance company and went through a whole list of questions that the Surgeons office had gave me to ask them. I have to be approved by the insurance company after all of the referals and first meeting with the surgeon is over. So in about a week and a half I have a Psych Eval and then 3 weeks after that I have a meeting with the surgeon. I'm not to sure how long the approval process will take. The insurance company does not require a diet plan. Just wanted to say "Hi" and blow of some of this stuff that I have been milling around in my head for awhile now. Jeremy:smile2:

    bodybugg or gowear fit

I have the GoWear Fit. The Body Bugg and Gowear Fit are made by the same company the are branded and sold by different businesses. I researched both for before I purchased the GoWear Fit. It works great, it tracks my calories burned, steps, activity, time that you sleep, and you can log all of your food. If you have any questions feel free to ask me. I have lost 40 lbs since I have purchased it. I am not banded yet.
