I had the Gastric Sleeve done July 2010. It was everything I had hoped it would be: I ate tiny portions, I lost about 90 lbs and finally got my control over food. Beyond that, the best thing that I got from the surgery was my babies!!! Before the surgery I had been infertile for several years. My partner and I had tried multiple fertility procedures and every time they never took. But, the first time we tried after my surgery (11 months after surgery) I was pregnant with twins! The surgery was an absolute blessing to me and the best choice I ever made.
I do have to say though, that while being pregnant, my cravings and bad eating came back. Being that I was pregnant with twins, I was starving all the time and since my tummy was so small, I was eating constantly! Not only could I eat all the time, but I could eat whatever I wanted and not gain weight! I only gained 30lbs with the pregnancy, which was mostly babies and water. And even once I had the babies, the weight fell off like just after I had WLS. But, the problem now is that the horrible eating habbits that I started while pregnant are still around. I'm eating things I shouldn't (carbs, carbs, carbs) and though I haven't gained any weight, I'm still stuck at the weight I was 1 year post surgery and it's 3 years later!!!!
I'm here to try and get my eating back under control and to start losing weight again. I'd like to have a place and people to talk to when I am stressed instead of turning to food to get me through.
