My story...I spoke to the head of my insurance company and they flat out said "it is an exclusion no matter what". So needless to say I explored other routes. I have a friend who visited the same Doctor (Dr. Carlos Quesada)that I am  going to in Costa Rica and was VERY happy. Their practice was happy to provide lists of people that I could contact for their experience. The price was less than half what it is here in the states and since I am a self pay, that made me excited!! I visited surgeryloans.com and got financing for the whole thing with a resonable APR. Airfare was cheap on Spirit airlines ($76 each way), and the recovery retreat is an all inclusive place for $85 a night(Casadelamariposa.com). They provide tranportation to and from the airport, hospital and Dr's office, cant ask for more!! Im 6 days away from surgery and I cant wait!!! Im excited that i dont have to do this "preop diet" from what I have read, its not to nice!...More to come!
