  1. I got my lapband in March 09. Since then I have only lost 48 lbs. I feel like I should be down much more since then. I am going on two years and still having a hard time with the band. As most of you know I lost most of my weight pre and post op. Lately I spit up almost everything I put in my mouth. So why am I not losing weight? How can you toss up most of your food and not lose weight? I question I am struggling with. I do not know if my band is too tight or if I am eating too much of something that has the tendency of getting stuck. I just do not know. Is there any advice out there from anyone? What do I do. I am exhausted from spitting up all the time. Even when I drink liquids. Ok, maybe I should not say everything I put in comes up. Every now and then I can eat without losing it. I would say 90% of what I put in comes right back up. Help me please!! Help me get over this. Thanks julie bugs

    Suffering

Thank you for your response. I may have to write down everything I am putting in my mouth to figure out why the weight is not coming off. I am not as concerned about that as I am the spitting up of the solids. I have went back to liquids before when I was eating too much. The problem is that I also am spitting up liquids much of the time. This is why I am puzzled by the no weight loss lately. I will say that even though I have only lost 48 lbs I am in a much better postion than I was pre band life. My blood pressure was out of control and now i have not had a problem with it. I actually just got in contact with my Dr. and they want me to come in right away and have some Fluid taken out. That scares me too. I do not want to gain. We will see. Have a wonderful Holiday Season, julie bugs
  5. No it is not painful. I thought it would be too. I mean how can they stick a needle in your tummy and it not be painful, right? It is very easy and you do not even know it is happening. I am sure you will say "That's It"? No worries on the fill.
  6. Good Morning from Marysville, How is everyone doing this morning?

  7. Being a "fat" person all of my adult life it is hard to believe the weight is actually going to come off. I am down 27 lbs but have been banded since 03/12/09. But like you said Suzanne, every pound I do not gain is an accomplishment. Those right there are words to live by. I did go in and get a fill yesterday. Fingers crossed that it does its job for me.
  8. Thank you all for sharing your words of wisdom and hardships. It is nice to know others are going through the same thing I am and that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I am getting a fill this afternoon. Hopefully this will be a point where I need to be.

    Any one in NW WA

Hello, I am in Marysville. We are neighbors
  10. Hello, I am new here. I thought maybe I could get through this with just my friends and family. I have decided after this weekend that I need people to talk to that are in the same situation I am in. It is a frustrating process to lose weight even with the band I am finding out.

  11. HELLO, I had surgery on March 12. I was down 29 lbs and right now am only down 23. I am very frustrated. I am in the same spot you are where I cannot believe that I can eat a cup of food and gain weight. I am hungry much of the time right now. I will be getting another fill tomorrow. I had a fill two weeks ago and could not keep anything down, not even Water. I had to go in and have an un-fill. I had a full cc put in, then a full cc removed. Tomorrow will be getting a half cc. They say maybe this is where I will stay for a while. It is frustrating knowing I am eating much much less than I have been for years. For years I stayed the same weight. Now am eating much much less and seem to be not losing. I am still confident in my band. I have not been great at exercising lately. Before my band I was exercising 4 to 5 days a week. I am starting that back up today and hope that makes a difference in the weight loss. Keep your head up. Remember that we had this surgery because we know it works. We just have to find that spot with the fill that works for us. julie bugs:thumbup:
