Sheila, Wendy, Sue!!!!! How are ya girls? I havent been on here much as ive had so much on at home, but thought id pop along and say hi. Im doing ok i suppose, it isnt coming off mega fast but im certainly paying lots more attention to what im eating. I had my first fill last week with Wendy at WLS (who's lovely) and she only popped in 2ml as she thinks i have a hernia across my whole tummy. Its wierd cos it looks swollen so makes me look really chunky round the middle but its firm to the touch like toned muscle. She doesnt think this is op related, most probably from one of my two very large boys when i was pregnant. I dont seem to have had much change in my appetite and eating habits since the fill, so i think perhaps she needs to pop some more in next time, but im impressed she aired on the side of caution first. Chin up ladies, great things come to those who wait ) Bev xxx

I do have a pea sized hard lump in the lower central scar. I've started massaging it with bio oil to try to disperse whatever it is. Ooooo just noticed Sue that ive got one of those little lumps too! Odd isnt it - wonder why its there? Is Sheila on here too - the Sheila that had the op the same day as us? Well done with the shrinking waistline chuck - what a fab feeling eh when the jeans are being held up by a tightened belt! Im not sure where i am with clothes sizing but the majority of my work suits were very tight on me before and now they fit fabulously - some even a tad loose!!! Im starting to eat lots more now and im convinced that by eating more last week it boosted my metabolism from the week before when it seized up. I have noticed quantity increasing and so am gettin ready for that fill - i must call and make the appointment. Take care eveyone and thatnks for all the support

Hey everyone, hope you're all fit and well. Good to hear from ya Sue (Singing Parrot). Have the hiccups subsided? As for the nudge nudge wink wink weekend....you cheeky woman, what kind of girl do you think i am! lol. Well given it was 3 days post-op i wasn't really capable of anything other than lying in bed (and having my feet massaged) ;o). Actually it was really funny cos my tum was so swollen my friend laughed when the hotel receptionist looked at my torso and said aaaahhhhh - obviously thinking i was pregnant! Well the swelling's going down but i can really see / feel the port. Is everyone else like this? The weight's coming off nicely and im really pleased with how the op has changed my attitude towards food. Actually having a meal is quite a bind now rather than something i do without really thinking and end up shoving three times as much in there than i really need! Think i need to sort out a fill - 6 weeks i seem to recall is about right for the first one, is that right? I'm about to start wii-fitting with my boys again now that im pretty much healed. I've never been a gym go-er and not about to start now :smile2:)

oh and another thing..... i was so chuffed today at work when two people stopped me and asked if id lost some weight as they could see the differnece in my face - how cool is that for such a short space of time! Such a motivator!!!

Hey guys well, ive just had my 1 week post op weigh in and am well impressed at -1stone 2 lbs!!!!! I realise that its probably quite unusual to have such a dramatic weight loss and that its down to the fact that not only have i not been hungry, but the first few days post op i really didnt feel like eating anything - to be honest i was a bit scared to. Well now im sticking to the 3 week liquid diet but do have to admit a fondness for thicker wintery soups so have mainly been eating those and that scrummy Rachels greek honey yoghurt. Dizzydebs - i returned to work 6 dyas after the op and although i accept everyone has a different tolerance/experience to the op, i guess it also depends upon the physical intensity of the job that you do. I really just sit at my desk all day, so nothing too strenuous here. I heard from Starsky today and she's settling into the bandster lifestyle now after lots of sickness, so thank goodness thats finally subsiding. Bev XXX

Evening everyone. Well i got my band on tuesday the 8th September (5days ago) and my tummy is really swollen. Im not really in pain, more a soreness which i guess is to be expected at this stage, but i really do look about 7 months pregnant. Did anyone else experience this? Thanks, Bev

G'day everyone! Well im home after having the op on tuesday and although feeling a bit sore and achy and lots of wind, im doing ok. It was fab to meet Sue (Singing Parrot) and the other two ladies Wendy and Sheila who i hope pop along and join the site too. I also met Starsky (Susan) last night and she's lovely - loads of luck to her today xxx Ive not felt hungry at all since the op and have had to force some cup-a-soups down me to make sure that ive got some energy. Drinking plenty of water too and about to start using the juicer now im home. Sue - I hope you're feeling a bit brighter chuck and the hiccups have gone. Just a query though - did any of you fellow banders have a hernia? Dr Chris told us that all 4 of us English patients he operated on that day had them to a greater or lesser degree - i wondered if anyone had one too and if there were any after-effects of it being repaired? Im off for a relaxing break away now until sunday evening at a spa, so although i wont be able to do the spa thing i really am looking forward to laying about doing nothing except a soothing facial! Happy burping new banders ) Bev xxxxx

Oliverdog - i got some info via email re the pre-op diet. I seem to recall that was approx a month before my scheduled op (which incidently is on tuesday)! SingingParrot - Thanks for the birthday wishes darlin - much appreciated. Ive had a fab day and resisted temptation on the low fat diet not to stuff mi face with cake and general bad stuff (or anything that gets in mi path really) and am even going out for sushi tomorrow as my bday treat! How good am i eh? I can recite your handy list of things to take / buy in preparation and have visited Boots and bought the shop! Oooo all those loyalty points lol Carriejess - im so pleased for ya darlin. You'll find a scrummy fella soon i can feel it in mi water (when you do, ask if he has a brother for me), you're a darn fine lookin lass so dont settle for anything less.....and do i detect some romance happenin on the lapband forum??? XXX Starsky - keep up the good weightloss chuck, not long to go now. I hope it was your biggest ugliest pants in the suitcase and not the racy sylph-like lacy lil' numbers that you'll be wearing shortly in a slender fashion and attracting the hoards of wonderful fellas! Bobo - Well look at you!!!! How fab are you looking!!! You must be so pleased. Im really chuffed for ya darlin X Freckles - so pleased you're feeling better love. Think you must keep Jacobs (cream crackers) in business tho! I think you should continue to soak up the cuddles from your gorgeous lil grandaughter and savour those right now - that'll make you much more content than ever before :sneaky:) Its late friday night, Ive had an awesome birthday and am buzzing on adrenalin rather than wine or cider - lifechange in progress ere, more to come in 3 days!!!
