I also had that problem.I called my doctors office and they told me it was probably the soy in the protein shakes i was drinking,so i had to switch to a dairy based shake. Hope all goes well

I was on MediFast,they have 11 grams of protein and only 90 calories. They tast pretty good.

Hi everyone,I am new to this so bear with me please. I was banded on September 9th,I feel great,surgery was only 1 hour and I was home the next day.Aside from being a little sore,I really do feel good.BUTTTTTTT why do I feel so hungry? Is this normal? I'm still on liquids till the 23rd.Any explanations?:tongue2:

My Doctor has me on liquids for 2 weeks then I start the puree foods. I'm trying to drink my protein shakes,I'm on medifast but everytime I drink a shake I'm running to the bathroom.I will call the office tomorrow and see what they say.I know the first 6 weeks are all about the stomach healing and getting used to the band.I think my first fill will be then,not quite sure since I'm so new to all of this.I wish everyone all the luck with there new journey and the ones already on there journey!!!!:tongue2:

Hi Ashley,I'm also getting banded on Sept.9th.I started my pre-op liquid diet on the 2nd.The first 2 days were hard,had a very bad headache.I still have them but not as bad,and the hunger is going away lol.The good thing is I lost 8 lbs in 2 days WOOHOO!!!.I wish you luck.Maria:smile2:

Hi Everyone My name is Maria I'm 38 years old I weigh 245 lbs My surgery is scheduled for Aug.31. Im getting a little nervous i dont think its from the surgery itself,I dont know if I will be able to do the liquid diet for 1 week prior to surgery.Any tips would be great.:scared2: I would also like to know where I get get some of these shakes.I dont want to order them online I would prefer to get them in a store.Thanks.:thumbdown:

Thank you for taking the time to reply.I was going to have my surgery on Aug 31st,but I got a call from my doctor,they pushed it to Sept 9th.I hope I'm gonna be ok to take my kids to school lol.I was told I'm not allowed to have any shakes other than Medifast Cause they are low in calories and high in protein.I hope I can get through that seven day liquid diet,I,m so nervous about that,not the surgery does that sound strange?Can you tell me a little about your surgery and your preop,how did you do?
