What do you get in your lap band package?
marymary1 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi everyone I would be very interested to know what people have in their lap band packages, as Private paying patients ? Examples How many fills do you expect in the package? Do you have any professional on hand when you have a problem? Do you have a dietitian to help you? We have packages that vary so much and I have a package BUT still do not know what it consists of ! So difficult to tie anyone down with any answers!! So much so, that, I have become totally demoralized by this! I would appreciate your input, Thanks so much. -
What do you get in your lap band package?

Hi Keith, Thank you for the info, you seem to have a really good package I must say! Especially the bit about any operations in the first year! Also the dietician bit! The specialist nurse etc. Also the hospital bit about help. Its a really good package. So important! Can I ask ? Are your fills going to be EX RAY ones or ordinary ones? Because I think fills are quite difficult to get it right. Mind you at present, I can hardly eat anything at all ,without it feels stuck in my chest! But maybe I need this to lose the weight? Was banded in Feb this year and have found it really slow going for me.........! So I am going to stick with this fill if at all possible! At least I can drink! But its though I am bulimic, if the food is stuck I have to bring it up! Please do not let this put you off though! As I do need to do this and shall be over the moon if and when the weight comes off. Maybe this is my sweet spot who knows? Please keep in touch if you want to maybe we can support each other. Take care Mary -

what was your weight loss at 6 months post op?
marymary1 replied to Fluffy Jen's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Lindsayb! I have had a few fills probably about six , since February ,but this one is too tight! I have lost 3lbs this week since Monday but I can't even keep Soup down! Some of the fills I have had I have not noticed any change at all. I think my fills amout to between 5 or 6 mls now. As my surgeon does it at two diffirent locations depending where he is! So my records are not there! I have had one lot taken out and I think I may have to have some of this taken out also. So I am still not sure what my sweetspot is ! Maybe I have the sick spot at present Sorry but thats what it feels like ......also have a very big lump in your chest.:tt2: Which is so sore that you end up making yourself sick! I do hope you find another fill to your liking and start losing weight My journey is also taking me along time. Take care Mary :tongue2: -

I am even slower only losing to date 12lbs!!! Had my fill in February and was 110kg or 242 lbs So heavy enough for me ! But I have found weight loss very slow indeed... I do try and exercise I find walking really good somedays anyway. Because my feet are a problem! Had another fill this Monday and I can hardly drink anything and its very painful , but I am going to see how today goes before I ring up for a deflate. I must see the weight coming off or I will also think I am a failure too! I am older than most ..but I need to be healthier for myself and my grandsons. Take care good luck Mary -

Thank you all so much.......... I see it does vary, especially from country to country . I feel the UK is still on a learning curve I had to pay £7,200 odd English pounds and I am still not sure what the package contains Alto I do attend a monthly meeting of other bandsters and they are really kind and helpful. Hand another fill last night which was part of the package! Its seems very restricting so I am hoping the weight may start to come off more quickly Because I have only lost about 12lbs since February 2009!! And I have been exercising walking . Lots! That is the demoralizing bit :huh2: But I am confident that this fill is going to work! I would like some new friends please if possible? That would be really great! Thanks Mary -
Hi Does anyone know how to put in an English county instead of state or province? As I really want to join but the facilities are not in place? Its just set up for the USA and Canada . Sorry folks I hate to start with a moan but I do really want to Do the right thing! Thanks so much Marymary1:rolleyes2:
