  4. I had my first fill today and i didn't have my usual doctor, i had a different one who was to do my fill. Upon finding my port when he stuck the needle in he couldn't get it into the port. After trying and trying at my own expense ( was very painful with my neck and legs in the air also ) he got it in but he had to go under it. After he had filled my port (2 ml? i think ) he told me my port had rotated and it's upside down. How does this happen? The doctor also told me it happens to about 10% of people who have lap banding, my response was " oh trust me to be in that 10%". Has anyone ever heard of this, even more so had this happen to then? Is it related to slippage at all, i haven't vomitted once nor have i got pains in my stomach. All i have had is pains near my port which i can now understand because the port rotated itself. I thought the it was stitched into place though? I'm going to see my doctor tommorrow as the one i saw today wasn't my doctor as mine wasn't in. The doctor told me they would be taking me back to hospital to readjust it and it wuold be covered by them (minus medication fees etc). If anyone can help me here, i would be oh so grateful and appriciate any feedback. Thankyou, Regards Beth Moir.
  5. I was on the Optifast diet for two weeks, and let me tell you, i cheated a couple of times, somehow over that period i lost 9 kilos. I put on 2 kilos again after the first week, lost 2 kilos just after the half mark of the first week. When i got weighed at the hospital on the day of my surgery, i lost 7 kilos! i was like what on earth, oh well.. yayyyyy! Im struggling to just eat liquid. its hard. Im a very picky eater. Does anyone have any delicious recipies for Soups? im not a very Soup sort of girl, but i guess i have to make the soup like me instead. Any tips? What are some things i can make for the two week after surgery period. I have no idea, and i listened to my dietician and read up but...i feel i have to ask people who have actually experienced lap banding rather than read facts and figures off paper. They removed my hernia between my chest,it is very sore. I feel short breathed alot of the time and sometimes i clutch at my chest because it feels almost like a heart attack. Will this sensation pass over the next couple days or is there some sort of breathing excersise i need to try?

Just eat strawberries, you're allowed them are you not? I was and i found eating strawberries curved my hunger, and eventually my tummy made itself smaller over the two weeks and i didn't need to eat as much. And when you get hungry just drink lots of Water then eat something healthy and small, if youre still hungry, go do something that requires your concentration, or, as i sometimes did, went to bed till it passed.
