Tummy tuck for 20's
audreysmommy replied to audreysmommy's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Thanks! How much does all of that cost if you don't mind me asking -
Hi! My surgery did go very well. Thanks for the concern. How are you doing with everything?

I saw this infomercial the other day about an Xpress Redi Set Go. Its like a george foreman, only seriously better. It looked like it would be very useful for when I can eat again (lol) and I just wanted to see if anyone already had one and could tell me if it was worth it. I think they are only like $40. If you don't have one, check it out, its pretty cool. Xpress Redi-Set-Go Cooker : Get Ready for Grill & Oven Quality in Microwave Time!

pouch stretched
audreysmommy replied to oliviasmommy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My dr told me after surgery that I was supposed to drink an ounce every 7-10 minutes, and to definitely NOT use a straw, because taking in too much at one time could possibly stretch the pouch. But, I think you would know if something was wrong with your pouch. I am going to have to go ahead and start drinking more, because trying to remember to drink an ounce every ten minutes just leads to me being majorly dehydrated. So... I don't know. -
Does anyone have a redi set go?
audreysmommy replied to audreysmommy's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
awesome. thank you. -
I woke up in the middle of the night last night with a splitting headache and unable to swallow for a few minutes. I took some children's motrin which made me very sick to my stomach and I camped out in front of the toilet for most of the night. I never did throw up, but the whole thing freaked me out. This morning I woke up and I can't eat or drink anything because it all tastes so bad to me. I called the dr this morning but I only got the answering service, who said they would give him the message. Has anyone else experienced this?

Does anyone have a redi set go?

I think the red one is a new version of the silver one. I think the silver one only has the side by side cooking space. Its mostly an omelet maker from what I understand. -
So, tomorrow is my birthday, and the family usually celebrates...guess how....with food! So, because I cant eat, I guess no one really knows what to do to celebrate (including me.) Any ideas?

Tomorrow is my birthday... help!
audreysmommy replied to audreysmommy's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
That's a good idea. I guess just because my family is all bigger, it never occurred to me that we could do something else and have fun. The beach is out because everyone has to work, but maybe taking the kids to the park in the early evening would be fun. Thanks! -
how about Baldwin or Mobile Counties?

At what point did you start getting excited about your weight loss?
audreysmommy replied to HolliJ's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I feel that way too. I've lost 18 pounds in just a few weeks, and I just am like 'whatever.' It's kind of not real to me in a way... Anyway, I completely understand what you are going through. My lowest adult has been 200, and pre-surgery I was 283. So, 18 pounds I guess just doesn't really get me too excited. But I just have to tell myself that every pound is getting me closer to my goal. And maybe once I hit a weight I haven't been in a long time I will be excited. Or maybe once my dress sizes start moving (which they haven't yet) I will get excited. -
I just had surgery a week ago, and I know I probably am not anywhere near the exercise point, but I am anxious to start. when did yall get cleared by your dr. to exercise?

pouch stretched
audreysmommy replied to oliviasmommy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
from what I understood, your pouch can stretch if you drink too much at one time, the same for eating. I don't know the symptoms though. How do you know if your pouch has stretched? -
3 days post op and confused...
audreysmommy posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had surgery on thursday, and am confused about how my band is supposed to be feeling. My stomach is full, and that honestly is the only way I know that the surgery really happened. (well, besides the 3 days I spent in the hospital and waking up in recovery.) I have not been hungry once in three days. I have eaten 4 oz. of soup a couple of times, but I dont feel any different than before I ate. So I just have this feeling of satisfaction constantly. I'm not hungry, and I'm not full. I drink the water that I am supposed to drink all day, but I am just confused by not feeling anything. Is this normal, or do I need to call the dr.? -

This is my declaration of freedom from fat, self esteem, and unhealthiness. I have it posted on my refrigerator for when I want to quit. Never again will I be afraid to talk to someone because of what I think they are thinking of me Never again will I be on another crash diet, or put my life in danger to feel better about myself Never again will I refuse to do something I really want to do because of my weight Never again will I not go to an event because I can't find something to wear Never again will I isolate myself from the rest of the world because I have low self esteem Never again will I try to please people just because I want them to like me Never again will I be afraid of airplane seats, waiting room seats, or any seats for that matter Never again will I focus on my flaws instead of my beauty Never again will I lose faith in God or myself Never again will I spend half an hour in front of the mirror pointing out the things that are not right Never again will I wish that I was a different person, or wish I could go back and not eat that bag of potato chips Never again will I make excuses for my shortcomings NEVER AGAIN WILL I WEIGH 280 POUNDS NEVER WILL I ALLOW MY CHILD TO GROW UP IN AN ENVIRONMENT THAT REVOLVES AROUND FOOD.

There are two parts to the liquid stage. The first is clear liquid, which is broth, sf jello, water, diluted juices, etc. For me, this phase lasted 3 days. The second stage is "full liquid," which includes strained creamy soups, sf pudding, fat free yogurt with no chunks just to name a few. You should probably call your dr or nurse and find out which you are supposed to be on. Hope that helped...

Thank you. This site is really such a blessing, I don't have a lot of support from my family right now, so being able to come on here and have people validate my thoughts and worries is so wonderful. Thanks again. -
Somemthing i've been wondering - college students
audreysmommy replied to Odjii's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I just had my surgery on thursday, but before I went to have it I told my teachers straight up what was going on. I told them that I would not be able to make it to one class, but that the next few classes I would need somewhere to sit. I can fit in the desks, but it is a tight squeeze and I knew that would be a no go for me to try to squeeze my freshly sutured stomach into a desk, while trying to sit at the same time. They were all VERY understanding about it and told me that it was fine and they would do what they could to accommodate me. I have found that when I tell people that I was planning on having this surgery they would not be judgmental as I thought. Several of them said "good for you" or "good luck with everything, let me know how it works out." In fact, the most judgment I have faced with this is from my mom, who was against it, and still is not extremely happy with my choice. But it was MY choice, as it is yours. Don't be ashamed of telling people. I would rather people know that I am working towards being healthy, than just looking at me with the stereotypes that fat people are given. Anyway, sorry for that rant. Summary: Tell your teachers, they will help you. -

Thank you. And I will enjoy this while it lasts, I haven't ever felt this "just satisfied" before. I was always starving or over-full. This is a good feeling. -

On the other side now!
audreysmommy replied to audreysmommy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
that's great! When did you start to feel like you could go to the gym? I have had a membership for a year, but only went a few times. I am ready to get started with everything! -
Well, I am happy to say I made it safely to the land of bandsters! I am doing well, port site is the only thing really giving me a lot of hurt. I did have to stay two nights in the hospital instead of one, but only because I was too nauseated to keep any liquid in me. But today I feel a lot better than I expected to feel. I'm looking forward to talking to y'all and start dropping the weight!
