After being obese since I was six, I finally decided I wanted to do something about it...for real this time. I tried everything I could to get the weight off, but couldn't do it. I had a baby fourteen months ago and my weight has only been going up. I threw around the idea of banding for a while but finally got the courage up to do it. My insurance approved it quickly, and I got a surgery date quickly. I am very excited and very nervous about all of it. (Definitely more excited than nervous.) My sister asked me the other day if I felt embarassed to tell people I am doing this, but I feel no kind of shame or embarassement at taking this step. I NEED this and I know I do. If anyone thinks anything about me for this, I hope it will be, "Good for her for wanting to be healthy."
