  1. Great question! I have PCOS as well. I will check out that forum!
  2. Dr. Cribbins in Plano was awesome. He is super nice and his staff is great! I kept getting denied in my insurance claims and his staff helped me all the way through! They referred me to a law center where they fight the appeal for you (they work for lapband so it is at no charge to you or the dr!). They are affiliated with Presby Plano and Baylor Frisco.
  3. Ask me in 50 pounds but obviously I have nothing yet as I was only banded on Thursday. I love this thread though, can't wait to see responses. I am hoping to get rid of my blood pressure meds. I also have sleep apnea but not bad enough to have a machine. I am also hoping this will ease my PCOS enough to have another baby without fertility drugs!
  4. Today was my first day for all liquid diet. I guess all surgeons are different as far as their recommendations but I was told no more than 1/4 of a cup or 2 ounces at a time for 6 weeks. Maybe you are too full? Or too much gas? I agree with the others...call your Dr.
  5. I second the Unjury protein shakes. The chocolate is great. Vanilla is okay but I personally thought there was a bit of an aftertaste. I love that they have an unflavored one that you can sneak in your Jello or Mashed Potatoes. I agree with the previous poster...It is really a personal preferance but there are a lot of great reviews out there for Unjury!
  6. I am brand new here and am excited to have found a forum like this! I had surgery 7/30/09 (2 days ago) and have yet to lose weight! In fact, I have gained 1 1/2 pounds if I take the hospital's scale on the day of pre-op and compare it to my scale at home just now. Should I be concerned or am I way too impatient? BTW the surgery went great and I am not in ANY pain (it should be noted however I was sent home with a pain pump for the incisions).

    Too Impatient

Thanks everyone! I think I was just too excited. I did end up losing a few pounds so it does make me feel better. I need to realize like the previous poster said that it is a marathon, not a sprint and even if I lose a lot at first, I am sure I will have my ups and downs. I appreciate the posts! So far, so good. I go on the all liquid diet today. Recovery as of now, thank goodness has been pretty easy and uneventful.
  8. Agreed, Flowerchild! I was banded on Thursday and yesterday (Sat) I went to a wedding! Not the reception but just the ceremony. Recovery has been a lot less painful than I thought it would be. I did start walking from the get go. That helps with gas more than anything! Also drink Water water water in the hospital. I think that helped too. I know it definitely isn't easy for everyone and I know how painful it can be. My MIL had lapband as well. I did wish someone told me I'd still be hungry. I figured I would be completely repelled by food but I am not. Granted I am not thinking about food all the time like I was pre-op but I still have my tummy rumble sometimes. The good news is the liquids do fill you up.
