  1. Happy 35th Birthday camsonge!

  2. 2 years has passed since you registered at LapBandTalk! Happy 2nd Anniversary camsonge!

  3. Ok, a little background info. I had a 10cc band inserted at the end of July. The dr. put fluid in it the day it was inserted and I had complications. He had to remove all of the fluid. He put in 2 cc's at the end of August. I had trouble getting "healthy foods" down like grilled chicken and veggies but the crappy foods (greasy foods) went down easy. So my surgeon added more fluid. He then had me drink some water and I threw it up so he backed some of the fluid out. I am not sure how much is in there right now but since yesterday (when he put the fluid in) all I have done is puke anything I eat (which isn't much) and even drinking the protein shakes is kinda painful. I get horrible belching that lasts for at least half an hour after i eat or drink anything and i seem to gag up a whole lot of thick mucus stuff. What am i doing wrong? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

    What am I doing wrong?

OMG, the leaning over and belching thing. I can so relate. I was unloading the dishwasher and everytime I bent down to get a dish I belched like a sailor. My doctor never mentioned anything about having to do liquids then mushies after a fill but it definitely sounds smart. I had some soup today and that was a breeze, but oh, last night, food was difficult. As far as my bite sizes, that is probably still a problem. I guess because I have been so used to taking such big bites before, I think I am eating small bites but in reality, probably not. I will work on that. Thanks again everyone.
  5. I am 6 weeks post op. I had a few complications after surgery with swelling and a prefilled band, so my doctor had to pull all fluid out for a while. I just got my first fill yesterday. I have only 2 cc's in a 10cc band (he did very little because I seem to be sensitive to fills). Anyways, I am on regular food diet but since yesterday, when I attempt to eat anything, it seems to hurt going down. Even soft foods. Plus, the burping...OMG, the burping is horrible. Not sliming, just belching up a storm. Is this normal or am I doing something wrong? Are you guys actually able to eat real food without it hurting? Do you all have the belching thing? I'm freaking out thinking something is wrong with me or I'm doing something wrong.:sneaky:

    Online calorie tracker??

I use fitday.com It gives me the option to enter activity and breaks down your caloric intake between protein, carbs, fat, etc. I love it personally and am able to set goals and see where I went wrong or right each day. Good luck!
  7. Yes, he finally came back from vacation...turns out there was fluid in the band so once he took that out, it was amazing how much better I felt. I am still on liquids for a couple more weeks but was actually able to drink my quotas for the day today and that was a complete blessing. Thank you so much for your concern. I am excited to find friends on the board and look forward to getting to know more about you and the others here.

  8. I went to my Dr. Yesterday and sure enough there was fluid in the band. He removed the fluid and I feel sooo much better. I am a little disappointed that he put fill in the band then left on vacation because no one else here in this tiny Louisiana town will touch the band for anything; however, my doc is very supportive and always thinks positively and in spite of this "bump" in the road, I trust him, so, I will continue my journey! Thank you for all of the words of encouragement and advice...much love!
  9. For those who asked, I contacted my Dr.'s office on Monday morning....HE'S ON VACATION! I know he deserves a vacation just like everyone else, but I really didn't like hearing that. So, off to the ER I went to get my bag of fluids. They did blood work and don't see an infection and the fluids patched me up until I can go see my surgeon tomorrow (wednesday) so I will know more then. However, since leaving the hospital I have kept down about 20 oz of gatorade and 5 tablespoons of broth (which is more than I have kept down in a week) so I guess I'm on the upswing now! Thanks for the words of encouragement and I'll keep you guys informed!
  10. Hey Camsonge- I just wanted to check on you. Did you call your surgeon? I hope you are doing better today. Please let us know when you can.

    Take care

  11. I am having the worst pain...I know it's gas, but I mean, every single time I take a sip of water or anything, it hits my stomach, then a large gas bubble comes up and I burp. The burp hurts so much (like my chest is gonna explode) then I throw up the water and this mucus stuff. My family physician gave me a shot of phenergan to try to keep stuff down. I kept down about 8 oz of water, but that's all I've kept down since surgery. But the phenergan has worn off and everything is back to the way it was. He said if I couldn't stop throwing everything up I'd have to be admitted for dehydration. I feel like I have made the biggest mistake of my life. Please, is anyone in the same boat, or have been?
