  5. Thanks for the great informative post. I too am considering Dr Cierny and was really pleased to see your positive comments. I would be going direct as I am no longer living in the UK but any hints on what to expect would be a great help. Thanks, Gal

Hope you are feeling a little better this morning Jackiem. Peppermint is good for wind and if you get the very strong peppermint oil you only need tiny amounts to really start to give you some comfort. Fennel tea also works. Gal x

Welcome back the newest members of the bandster club! Hope you are on your way to recovery and not feeling too sore. That goes for Garry the repair man too... How was it to travel back after the op feeling sore? Would you recommend waiting another full day or two afterwards to recover before heading home. Thanks for the pics Ivsey2... I have to say you looked rather bright and breezy post op. This gives me hope that I won't be too wrecked afterwards! Galx

Poor Anitahug, I really hope you manage to keep down those fluids and avoid the dreaded hospital. Sounds like you are going through a pretty horrific time with it. Hope you are feeling better soon x Gal x

Just want to wish those going out tomorrow, good luck! I can't imagine how you are feeling... nervous and excited seems to be the way to go. I'm really looking forward to reading all about the experience, so don't forget to tell us prebands what to expect... Thanks and good luck, Gal x

Go to tickerfactory.com and choose an appropriate ticker. It will then give you an URL in a box a bit lower down the page. Copy that into your signature and away you go!! Gal x

Thank you all so much for the welcomes. I have actually spent over a year lurking on these forums reading the posts. I think my main motivation has been the fact NO ONE takes fat people seriously and I find that tough going in my business. I am considering the lapband AP. Has anyone else got this band? It comes in tiny compartments and prevents creases forming that can split. It costs an extra 500 euro however and Dr. Chris says he hasn't seen that it helps with weightloss over time. Just reading Garry's experience though makes me think about it more seriously.... Any thoughts? Gal x

Thanks a lot. I am sure over the next few weeks I will have LOTS of questions, right now I am just excited to have finally taken control of this. As I have decided I am not going to be telling anyone, not at first anyway... I am sure the support here will be of great help as I am not usually the one to keep secrets! Thanks again, Gal x

Hello Everyone... I would just like to thank you for all the information regarding banding with Dr. Chris. I have to admit I was quite nervous but found the 'real life' anecdotes here a great help and reassurance. So much so I have finally taken the plunge and opted to have the surgery done... I am hoping this can take place on the 22nd of September. I am so thrilled I have finally gone and bit the bullet. Thanks again, Gal x
