    The best protein shake ever!!!

Jiffy has an all natural peanut butter that I use. I understood that is was okay in a shake, the rule my doc says "is if it doesn't slip and slide on a plate, it won't once it gets in your stomach." Hope that helps, I was banded on the 22nd and haven't had any problems with peanut butter.

July22 and 23rd Bandits, check in here!

I received my Lap Band on July 22. Talk about surgery scheduling. I was scheduled for 4pm, but didn't actually go in until 7:45pm. I had been fasting since 8:30pm the night before, I was so thirsty, although one nurse snuck me about 1/2 cup Water. My doctor gave me an onQ pump. Saved my sanity! It administered a local anesthetic around the incision areas which kept my tummy numb. It ran out on Saturday, when I removed the catheter I never did experience any pain. My worst side effect was gas, oh my! Walking was the only thing that could cure it. Now, I am just hungry all the time. My post-op appointment is on Monday, so I am hoping for good news. Tomorrow I have my first support group meeting and I am looking forward to that, getting to meet locals who are going through this too.
  3. My doctor allows us to have protein shakes, at least two a day to get our protein, what we add to them is a bonus. I am one week out today and have found that I love a vanilla protein shake with fresh watermelon blended in. I believe my doctor is definitely different in his thinking, good for me in the end. I have learned from family members that have had this surgery that they became very sensitive to sugary and/or fatty foods. Good luck!
