Deb, same thing for me. Nothing taste good at all. I eat because I know I have to eat. I'm glad in a sense, but sure would be nice to eat something (anything) that tasted good.

Hey Rob, haven't heard from you in a bit. Hope everything is going well for you and things are still on target. Looking forward to meeting you when you are in Colorado. We just had a huge snow storm the last 2 days. It's nuts..for this time of year.

Thanks for the suggestion Debbie. I did end up getting some of the Miralax that was mentioned on the board, and it works great! I may look for that alao vera also. Hope you are a having a great weekend.

Everything has been going very well. I'm down 43 1/2 lbs. This week has been a yo-yo week. I lost a few pounds then gained 1/2 lb then lost and gained the same 1/2lb again. Ugh. Not sure what's going on with that, but I am still down for the week. I was still going to the gym doing the walking/riding/running for 4 miles until last week. I sprained my knee and am in a brace. It is getting better each day, but it's disappointing because I can't exercise now. Hopefully by next week I'll be back to the gym. The only issue I'm having right now is constipation. Which seems to be pretty common amoungst us sleevers. I guess when most of your diet consists of meat, that's the reaction you get. I was doing one chewable fiber pill a day and recently upped it to two a day. I really don't care for them though because they have carbs in them and I'm trying very hard to keep my carbs between 20 -30 per day. One of the threads here talked about Miralax and how good it works. I'll pick some of that up today and start trying it. Hope everyone post sleeve is doing great, and those of you pre sleeve, hang in there...it's so worth it. Barb

I'm So Freaking Happy!
Barbara278 replied to Bona Fide Diva's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Congrats!!! I just hit my 180's and I almost cried too. It's been many years since I've been that low in weight. I agree....it's pretty simple rules, and if you follow them (which isn't hard to do) you almost can't screw this up. It's going to continually get better and better. Congrats on your success!!! -

New here, new choice!
Barbara278 replied to sickofitall's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
What great luck!! It couldn't have turned out any better. July will be here before you know it. I took two weeks off of work, but I honestly feel like I could have easily come back to work after a week. I did feel a bit tired by the end of each day right after surgery, but that quickly goes away. Best wishes to you! -
Congrat! You think you are smiling now...just wait.

Stacie, I sure hope things improve for you also. I am forcing myself to get in the protein and nutrients I need but it's so hard. It's like a chore. I almost hate eating but know that I have to. Wow, what a change from 6 months ago when I could eat non stop and never seemed to get enough. lol Hopefully it will pass as Tiffs did. Best of luck to you.
-
Tiff, thanks for the response. That's exactly how I feel, like I'm force feeding myself and it almost makes me want to gag. I do make myself eat though because I don't want to get sick or not have the proper nutrients that my body needs. I'm already starting to lose hair. I'll try your suggestion and spice my food up and maybe try some new things. Hopefully mine will pass as yours did.

What is this pain? Help!
Barbara278 replied to Genesis1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My Doctor mentioned before I had surgery that one of the symptoms of being full was sneezing or getting a runny nose. He said they have no idea what causes it but many sleeve patients get it. Some will hiccup when full. I do all 3. lol -
Im ready for a change
Barbara278 replied to mjeancha86's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
mjean, the sleeve will help you to lose the rest of your weight. I was like you, I was constantly hungry and would eat large amounts of food until I felt full. It seems like I was a bottomless pit. I wasn't one to eat all day long, just large meals when I did eat. I would eat more than my husband sometimes, which is ridiculous. Now that I've have the sleeve, I'm full very quickly and satisified. The mental part is a little difficult because we are so programed to stuff tons of food in our bodies, and all of a sudden, you cant. I to had my surgery With Dr. Aceves and can't speak highly enough about him. He is just fantastic. Best wishes to you on your future journey. Barb -
jm, welcome to the forums and good to hear that everything is going smoothly for you., Barb

Fabby, so sorry to hear this. It's very upsetting to know you can work for a company for so long and seniority doesn't matter. Obviously you are a great employee or they wouldn't have kept you that long. Hang in there...I'm a firm beleiver that somethng better is just around the corner for you. Barb

HW 257 SW 235 (I better mention I lost 9.5 lbs on pre op diet) LW 193.5 CW 192 I lost 2 lbs, gained half, lost the half then gained and lost the half again. What in the world is up with that??

Best wishes to you for an uneventful surgery and recovery. Keep us posted on how you are doing. :biggrin2:

Things are going fantastic. I feel better than I have in many years. I'm down 42 lbs. I have 2 times as much enegery as I had before. I can't wait to see how much more energy I get after dropping another 40 lbs or so. I had a great NSV this weekend. I hiked to the top of Helen Hunt Falls. :sneaky2: I cried when I got back down to the bottom. It was such an emotional moment for me. It took me an hour, but I did it!!! I had attempted it 4 other times (once when I was 20 lbs lighter) and failed. It was hard and every muscle in body hurts today. I could hardly get out of bed this morning. lol Anyone out there wondering if this surgery works...it does. I'm a testimony to it. :scared0:
-
Rob, I've mentioned it to you privately before, but it is difficult or differnt the first 4 weeks or so. It's like learning to eat all over again. BUT, it is the best thing I've ever done for myself. So don't be surprised to feek overwhelmed in the beginning. But once you get a little further out, it will be second nature and you will be so happy. Looking forward to meeting up with you.
