I Finally found a Protein & Energy Drink I like
libra replied to cindy032969's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have a stupid question. Are Slim Fast or Ensure High Protein okay to use as protein drinks? It's saying 12 grams of protein per serving. Will I need more than that? -
Arrrrggghhhh!!! I'm with you Bug! Tomorrow's the big day! I'm so not into the clear liquid thing, LOL!! But do what you gotta do. I won't find out until 4pm today what time my surgery is tomorrow. I'm on eggshells here!!! BEST OF LUCK, GOTGLOCK AND LOSIN IT!!! Cheers to all the August Bandsters!!!:clap2: :clap2: :clap2:

Okay seriously, what's with the shoulder pain? I don't get it.:noidea:
-
LMAO!!!!!:bump2:

I am not on a pre op diet either...now before you get pissed at me (LOL) I'm saying this to explain that I'm sure you'll be fine if you're not sticking to your diet exactly. All doctors ask for different things. Just do the best you can. I'm sure you'll be okay.

Welcome to the new August Bandsters!!! Yay! We're in this together!!!:Banane27: Scribby, I'm so glad you're feeling better, however the price of those prescriptions would have made me ill!!! Sheesh!!!:faint: Glad to hear such positive stories here!!!

Thanks for that info! With 3 kids, I always end up at a fast food place once in a while and I was wondering what to do about it.
-
My hubby is also very supportive. I've gained 100 pounds since we met and I think he's looking forward to seeing his "sweet young thing" again...well, not so young anymore! LOL!!! Maybe your hubby is just feeling a little insecure. Maybe he's nervous that a "life change" for you would include a change in your feelings for him. Maybe you need to reassure him that this "body" change will not affect your relationship negatively.
-
Wow!!! sounds good to me!! Hubby will be pleased! He won't have to wake me up anymore!
-
Awww, Scribby, chin up...I'm sure you'll be feeling better soon.:phanvan

K- Sounds like you're gonna have to wait this one out. I guess we all learned a lesson from you. NO SOLIDS!!!!!! Wishing you the best hon. Glad to see some other August bandsters telling us about their experiences. Everyone seems to have had successful procedures so far. Yay to everyone!!!:clap2:

Yeah, I noticed that too. Tina Yothers, Erika Eleniak and Carnie Wilson all have baby weight to lose. Not a major weight loss like in the past.

BooBoo, that guy was an ass, ignore him. Stay positive and you'll see the results, I'm sure. Great job so far.:clap2: Losin' it ~ I can totally relate!! My date is Tuesday and I'm starting to panic a little. LOL!! I've become addicted to reading everything on this board. I am staying away from the "scary" thread, like "Complications" etc. until after surgery. Stay positive!!!!!

I have an SUV and the seat is too high for him. Maybe I'll switch cars with my husband for a few weeks. He drives a sedan and my son can get in there pretty easily. Thank you all for the responses. Obviously, I'm going to need a little help with him for a couple of weeks. He's only 2 1/2 but he's a big boy!

I've always put everyone else before me, that's how I ended up in this situation in the first place. The advise you are getting is good advice. You need to take care of you. I know when a loved one is failing, it's so difficult to do, I'm learning to do it too. But if you are not at your best, how can you be any good for anyone else? Remind yourself about your reasons for getting the band. Be there for your mother, without sacrificing youself in the process. Best of luck to you.

Clarityseeker, Thanks for the tip...peanuts huh? Sounds like you're doing well. Anyone have suggestions about lifting? I have a toddler and I'm getting worried that I'm not going to be able to lift him (he's 37 pounds) to put him in his car seat, or change his diaper, etc. Did anyone get any advice about how soon after surgery you can lift? My husband will be able to help when he's home but he does have to work.

My entire life, I've had a scale aversion!!! LOL!!! Maybe when I actually start to lose weight, I'll become "one with the scale". But right now...I don't care for the little sucker much!:huggie:

Relationship Question: Full on communication to None
libra replied to TexasRose's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Eh, it's just a guy (no offense to the men here, just putting things in perspective:biggrin1: ) Don't start doubting yourself because of how HE is behaving. You'll find the right one...and you'll know. -
Good luck guys!!!!!

I'm 5'9" and my goal is 160-165ish. Although the day I don't have to shop in the "Chubby Chick" department will be the greatest!!!:biggrin1:
-
LOL!!! ***getting the visual of 2 boobs on legs.***:huggie: Somehow, I don't EVER see that in the cards for me!!!:huggie:
-
Just keep reminding your husband that you're a totally different person. My hubby's ex was a skinny blonde...nothing like me.:huggie: I used to feel like my hubby would get frusterated with my weight. I'm at my heaviest now and he's still beside me. And he still tells me I'm the most beautiful woman he's ever seen at any size.

GE mom...glad to see you're doing well. And Yay to all the other August bandsters that have had their surgeries!!! You're all so positive and upbeat...good for you!!! Bug, you and I are on the same day...ONE WEEK!!! I am a bag of mixed emotions right now. I saw my regular doc last night and although I never had high blood pressure before, it was up...and he asked if I was nervous!! DUH!!!! ((((Big hugs to all the August bandsters!!! You rock!!)))):clap2:
