This week our town had a funeral for a serviceman lost in Iraq. It was our first and hopefully our last. The military has no reason to be there. Even the Iraqi citizens have said they felt safer before our "invasion". Bring our troops home before more lives are lost.

Yeah, chairs in general scare me! I have a fear in sitting in one and not being able to get out!!! Ironically, my surgeon has the small armchairs in the waiting room. I'm so squished in them. Of course, I called him on it. He said he never realized they were small. (He's 150 soaking wet!!) I never thought of the salon chair not pumping up. Great thanks...I'm getting my roots done next week. :confused:

Welcome to the club Sarai!!!! Okay kiddies, my special friend is here, I'm sick and all I want to do is eat!!! I'm trying my best to at least make it healthy. (I'm sitting here chomping on celery and peanut better as we speak!! LOL!!) I don't know why but when I'm sick...I just want to eat and eat and eat!! WILLPOWER WOMAN!!!! Okay, I'm 2 tenths of a pound away. I'm not getting on the scale at all this weekend. I'm pms'ing big time and am seriously craving salty. Trying to be good. Let's see what happens Monday.

TerryB, I don't think my first fill gave me enough restriction because after two days of liquids, I was able to eat pretty much anything and did experience hunger. It doesn't sound abnormal, especially with "your friend" at the same time. See how you feel when your visitor leaves.:biggrin1:

I suppose I won't be hitting my September goal either. Unless I have some dramatic weight loss in the last week!!! I suppose we made some unrealisitic goals for our first full month with the band. I've literally been bouncing back and forth with the same few pounds almost all month so far. So frusterating. I can't wait for that second fill. (Sorry I keep repeating that but I'm don't ever want to see 300.5 on my scale ever again!!!)

Me too. I used to always be warm, but since surgery, I'm always cold. My husband is so surprised to feel my cold hands and feet. I'll take the trade off though. I can always wear a sweater.:biggrin1:

Pebbles, So glad you went to the Dr. and everything is okay. Andy Liz, I've already had my first fill and I feel nothing. I'm am working on willpower right now and we know that doesn't last long or I wouldn't be here. LOL!! Second fill is scheduled for the 29th. I can't wait either. I've been bouncing back and forth with the same two pounds for two weeks now. It's frusterating.

Julie, Good for you!!! It's hard not to get complacent but keep it up!! Think of how great it's going to feel to look in the mirror and see yourself like you never have before. (at least not in a loooong time, LOL!!) I remember as a teen I would say, "If I ever get to 200 pounds, I'd lose my mind." Then in my twenties I said, "If I ever hit 300, shoot me." Well, now in my 30's, I know I'll be seeing 165 again, and I can't wait." We're on such an incredible journey.

My future sister in law is a critical care nurse. When I told her, she was thrilled for me. She knew a lot about the surgery and even knew other nurses who did it. Of course, my future sis in law is thin. I think everyone may be right here. She doesn't want to be left behind in the "chubby section" I think it would be good to talk to her and explain that you need to do this for you and that you would appreciate her support. Whatever you do, don't let her dissuade you from what you really want to do.

Mine is about two inches directly above my belly button. Mine's still fairly new, so it occasionally hurts when I bend down for a bit. I think it's the scar tissue that's sore, not exactly the port. I'm curious what makes surgeons decide where to put them.

Yup, those slimes sure are fun, arent they? I sometimes forget and eat too fast. Don't be upset with yourself. It's gonna take us a while to get used to this. Bandster16, don't worry about your first fill. It's pretty straightforward.

I messed up yesterday. I'm afraid to step on the scale because if I gained, I know I'll be upset. Yesterday was family time for me, hubby and our 2 1/2 year old boy. Actually we went house shopping as we're selling ours and looking for something bigger. Around lunch time, my hubbys said "Let's get something to eat" Well, we ended up at McDonalds. YIKE!! I had a 4 piece chicken nuggets and a fruit and yogurt parfait. I had no idea what to order. We got home late and picked up Boston Market for dinner. I ordered the meatloaf, sweet potatoes, and spinach. Problem is, I ate the whole thing!!!! Yeah, in dire need of that second fill!!! When, I went to track my calories on fitday...HELLO!!! 1200 calories!!! Holy cow!! I had no idea I ate that much. I had been staying between 750 and 900. I went waaaaayyyyy over yesterday. I drank like a gallon of water to try and flush out all I ate. Needless to say, I'm also doing doubletime on the treadmill today. I guess I screw up once in a while....but I ended up so mad at myself!!!

Hmmm, Dr. Nusbaum said the same thing to me when I asked how much he was filling it. I wonder what that's all about. I felt restricted for a day or so, but then that was it. Definitely need another fill. I didn't feel nauseous though. Just a little weird as the numbness was wearing off.

Wantlapband, good for you!! I'm glad it worked out for you. Don't give up. Keep pounding the insurance company with information, keep calling. Do whatever you can. Best of luck!

Hey I dropped almost 2 pounds when I got on the scale this morning. Finally!! I'm still getting that second fill though. I may be eating less than I was, but it's still too much. Chrissie, I agree.
