I'm glad that's working for you but I don't think overeating is my problem. For example, I may eat 3 shrimp and two pieces of broccoli (cooked to mush, BTW) Then maybe two hours later, I'll have a yogurt. I don't think that's overeating considering I don't eat much else all day.

Wow!! I'm in the same boat as well. I can't eat anything in the morning. It takes me a good hour to drink a sugar free Instant Breakfast. By lunch time, I'm a little better but not much. Even dinner can be a struggle unless I eat later...say around 8pm. Luckily, my toddler makes me so exhausted, I'm too tired to snack at night. LOL!! I'm concerned that I'm not eating enough actually. This fourth fill has me seriously restricted.

Waterlily... I'm so sorry to hear about your mother. We'll always be here for support or to vent. We'll also be here to tell you it's okay if you slip... Hang in there and be the strength your mother needs right now.

Overall, my husband has been supportive but he did say once that he thought I was becoming "self-absorbed" When I asked him why, he said that I never used to worry about my appearance. I told him it was because I couldn't stand to look at myself. Now, I don't feel that way.

I'm considering a breast lift if I can't get them into place via exercise. I don't think I'll need a tummy tuck as it all seems to be going back into place pretty well so far.
-
I'm also an August bandster. Banded on August 15th and have lost 62 pounds so far. I've had 4 fills.
-
I noticed that it forced me to be more social. I was always really shy and hid behind food. Now without that crutch, I have to actually "talk to people!"
-
I think it may be mental. I know before my last fill, I was pretty much able to eat anything. After the fill, I was seriously restricted and I actually got a little depressed about it. I think I was falling into my old habits of turning to food for comfort. I kept thinking about all the things I couldn't have and started to lose focus on the goal. It took me a little time and some weight loss before I started to "forget" about the food. You'll feel better soon, I'm sure.

I'd have to agree. No weight loss in a week or so signals a fill to me. That is of course that you're not filling up on junk. I've done it myself a few times and my weight loss stalled until I got back on track.

Clarityseeker. Glad to hear from you and know you're doing well. Nice NSV. I was excited to buy some cute lacy panties yesterday! I need some bras to match but I'm not sure of my size anymore. I have to go to Victoria's Secret. They'll measure you. I know I'm not a 42 DD any more as I have them on the tightest hook and they keep riding up. Yay!!!

Yup, I can't eat reheated foods either. Chicken is the worst. Fish seems to be okay though. Now I have to feed hubby the leftovers! LOL!

What crap!! And people actually believed this was real? These women don't look anything alike!!! good on ya for uncovering the truth on this scam.

Stop having so many damn kids; population control, anyone?

I worked on the TANF program for years. Although many were helped and found jobs, others still learned how to work the system. No one was ever really "kicked off" the program for non-compliance. If they decided to not show up for a employment classes, they were rescheduled. The idea is a great one, the problem is that you have "welfare families" that have grown up, generation after generation, on this system and know no other way. They would rather find a way to buck the system than to find a job and pay for themselves. -
The band is tricky. Any change from routine can create havoc. If fasting is something you have to do, then be prepared for some changes in your band. It won't create any long term problems, so don't worry about that. BTW, band tightness seems to fluctuate. Menstrual cycles and even the time of day seem to affect the tightness of the band.

It's good that you're taking the necessary steps now. Good for you! I know that I'm actually at a point now that I don't feel well if I don't exercise. That's certainly a change from my former couch potato self. It's so true that the band doesn't work if you don't put forth the effort. We're here to support one another...don't forget that as well. -
I would have to guess that sharing a life changing event is unifying. I feel this band has certainly changes my life and I enjoy sharing that experience with others.
-
I got one from my surgeon but I've never felt compelled to use it. I also usually order and entree and take home the extra. I may also order an appetizer or soup as well. Most kids menus are chicken Fingers/ fries...cheeseburger/fries, etc. All the things I shouldn't eat anyway.

But, hey, I'll give it a shot.

I just had my 4th fill on Friday. All's well so far. (Hmmm, do I count this as my 4th fill since my 3rd had to be removed.) Anyway, hoping to see some more weight loss. I've been stalled for a month, since my partial unfill.
-
No way could I have done this without the band. I've tried for years and kept gaining it back. I know that this was the best option for me and for the first time in my life, I know I can do it!
-
Wow faybie, that's great! I was stupid and forgot to take my measurements pre-band so I don't know what I've lost.
-
My goals are to keep losing, and to keep motivated. Aside from that...to work at being a better mom and wife.

New thread works for me too!!!!
