I used a credit card. I know it is not the best way, but I was ready to do and no insurance. I just pay as much as I can each month on it. Most Dr.'s know a company that will finance.

Just hang in there it will go away. Just keep taking the GasX on a regular basis. I took it probably for the first month reguarly. But walking everyday will help it too.

I assume you me solids? I eat whatever I want but measure it out. I eat a lot of Chicken Salad with FF mayo. I have not had any problems eating anything as far as keeping it down or getting it down. Just remember to chew, chew, chew!

Yes I think I need a fill too, maybe I can move it up some. I had my first one at 4 weeks and now I am 8½ weeks. I will call on Monday and see if I can get an appointment for two weeks from now. I hope that helps some. Thanks!

Hit Janelle! I was self pay so I did not have to wait. But For me I would have waited two years. I think it is so worth it. It would be a good birthday present if you get a surgery date to go home with on your birthday. Good Luck!!

Welcome to the site! My Dr. says to expect 1-2 lbs per week and I have been at about 2 lbs per week except a little stall (2 weeks) during the mushies stage. I have only had one small fill. I think I need another. I have had no problems at all no vomiting or anything except a piece of banana got stuck but one little cough and it came right up. I am 8½ weeks post op and have lost 23 lbs. That might seem slow but I am happy to say goodbye to those lbs. I am very glad I had a surgery.

WELCOME! I wonder if I will lose better when I have more fills. I have only had one fill but I am not hungry most of the time but I can eat a little more than 3/4 cup at a meal, but then I feel really full. I lost 13 lbs at 4 weeks post op but at 8½ weeks post op I have only lost 23 total. I think I am behind everyone else in the July Bandsters. I can go back for a fill in 3 weeks. Right now I have 2cc in a 10cc band. I think I need a fill.

Great for you. You must be so excited. I was too when I knew mine was coming. I have not had any problems so I hope everthing will be problem free for you too.

I know you are not talking to me but, I wanted to answer. I do believe you will burn in a pit of fire. How can I believe in Heaven and not believe in hell. Just like if you believe in God you know there is a satan and a place where he will one day dwell. There is spritual war going on.:thumbup:

He also walks beside us when we do go through the trials and tumble into deep valleys He stays with us always. He did not say it would be easy just that He would never leave us. That I believe!!:w00t:

When I used Medifast I liked the Hot Chocolate it was very good and full of protein. I drank it in the summer or winter.

I know you must be excited about your surgery date. I was banded in July and have been very happy with the process. Hope you will be too. I will be happy to talk to you any time.

I only have 2cc and seem to be fine that is only my first fill. They say sometimes it takes some time to kick in even up to 2 weeks so hang in there maybe restriction will come. Let us know. Drink lots and lots of water. If you like coffee with FF creamer and some equal that kills any hunger I have.

My Dr says no cokes whatsoever and I am reading 4 different books about Lap band and they also say no cokes. Some say the carbonation is bad for the pouch. Trust me if I thought there was a way to drink it I would but I do not want to waste my money spent. There should be some information if you go under the search section and type in drinking cokes and check posts.

The band will help you with that habit. But it is better to do it the easy way and start now. So you will not get food stuck. Do not be disgusted with yourself just realize we all eat some types of food faster than others. I am banded and I have noticed if I eat watermelon I eat too fast and always get these really bad hicups that warn me to slow down now. You and I both need to build our self esteem, it will help both of us throught this process.

I hope you have someone to be a supporter even just one person that makes it alot easier. Or after surgery go to a Lap Band support group in your area. I am only 8 weeks post op but I am so happy with how the whole thing works. Eating is easy and the weight comes off for me at only 2 lbs a week but I will take that. I know everyone says this but it was one of the best things I have ever did. I was self pay so mine process was really fast. It is a little scary but I hate Dr. and hospitals. Sometimes I think that is why I only had one child because I would have to go to the hospital again. I work out every night on my total gym and walk when I can find someone to go with me, but perfer being inside. Let us know how the seminar goes and if you are going to go for it.

I agree with everything Restless Monkey said. I went to counseling for 2½ years for my depression and have learned some coping skills that I try to use. But when my husband and I discussed the surgery we talked about the possibliity that I might have to return to counseling if need be to cope with any new emotional things that might bother me since my “friend” would be around less and less
