  4. Erin, You have been around about the same time as I have on this message board, You are much too young and beautiful to be full of darkness or thought of darkness. Even if you still have more weight to lose you need to get out and do things with your friends, you can do stuff that does not involved money. If you need some money see if you can find a part-time job or babysit for someone or try volunteering somewhere, nothing helps you as much as it does when you are helping others, Hospitals need people to vist with people who have no family or to read to them. Nursing homes would love to have someone like you to come in and vist with the people there and all of these things will fill your time and make you feelings not standout like they do now. Start over on Protein shakes for 3 day to get your focus off of food and then it should get better. Find you someone to talk to. Find a church and get involved in the youth group now days they do a lot of activities and maybe you need some some church family to help you out. Also just my opinion the best person to talk to is Jesus He is there 24/7 and cares so much about you. He hears everything you say and He cares and loves you. He is who I talk to. Take care and do not feel alone, Cheri

    emotions vs food lover

If you are worried go see a therapist before you invest in the surgery. See what your realtionship with food really is. I am an emotional eater and have struggle some, but it has worked for me. Down 84 lbs. But I am a big believer in therapy. Cheri
  6. I always get the hiccups from hell when I eat too fast or I am getting to the stop eating point. After I eat I get left shoulder pain for some reason. It last a while. Cheri

    New Here!

Good to have some newbies. My advice to you is for you to stay true to your eating plan and workout, the first year is when you can lose the most so take advantage of it. Don't make this board your first source of support, you need to be in touch with real people going through what you are. Find a support group and keep going to it. Also don't get your feelings hurt by people on these boards, most people are trying to help, sometimes we all type something and we mean good but just does not come across that way in typed words. Greek Yogurt

This sounds stupid even typing it but I buy the plain Greek and add a small amount of sugare free Jello powder to it to get whatever flavor I want. The greek with the fruit has 27 carbs where the plain only has 6 carbs. I like it! Cheri

    Zumba?

I might try a class, but I am gonna have to do it at home first for a while. Those girls look great on there, must weigh all of 95lbs. Cheri

    Zumba?

I bought the DVD online and just did the learning the steps part. I will probably be doing that for 2 weeks before moving on to the workouts. Just learning the steps is a work out enough and I am not a dancer. Will be doing it alone for a while would be to embarrising in front of people till I learn the steps. I think my brain and body do not work together when it comes to dancing. But looks like fun. I use a total gym every night so I need the cardio. Cheri

    Single Hiccup?

I only get them when it is time to stop eating! And it is not one but about 10 and they come straight from hell! Cheri
  12. Sad no one replied, but you need a support group also or a Band Buddy. A real person who knows you and will talk to you when you need help and support. Let this place be your second or third support source. I made several friends that I met on the board here that live in my area and we started our own support group. I talk to at least one of them sometimes both everyday. What is interesting is that one of the friends I met on here, when she first came to the meeting at Starbucks we all talked a hour or so when we dicovered she was my childhood best friend and we had not seen each other in 35 years. Now we are back together and working the band. Cheri
  13. Do you find while you are losing weight or after you are through losing you have transfered your old eating patterns towards your pets? Sounds dumb but I think I am over feeding my 2 dogs because I want to eat so I think I am overfeeding them. One just burns it up running around be the other one is getting chucky! Am I the only one?? Cheri

    Catheter?

I had one but they did not put it in until I was in OR and out of it. But I am sure I needed it as I had to get out of bed 2 times before surgery to go to the bathroom with the nurse following me carring my IV. They pump so much liquid in me from IV. I did not know I had one until I got a bladder infection and a friend told me that was probably why. I called the Dr's office and they check my chart and said yes I did have one. It has out while I was in recovery never knew about it. Cheri

    FAT PETS?

Trust me I know it is not good for them to be overweight, but I just noticed that it was becoming a pattern to feed them more when I do not feel good, I just tranferred my problems on to them. One is already on prescription food for her kidneys, guess them other one is gonna have to go back on prescription diet food. Cheri

    Diet Pepsi/ carbonated drinks

My Doctor said none at all. And I am about 20 months out and have not had any at all. If I can give it up you can too. It is so bad for you, not worth taking a chance for. Cheri

    Zoloft

Try taking your Zoloft in the morning with some coffee or hot tea. I take 100 mg too and I have no trouble. Hot liquids are suppose to relax your band. If you feel you have to take it at night still do the samething just use decaf instead. Cheri
