When did you get start....?
123crod replied to momnear40's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Clear liquid 3 days, liquids for 1 week, mushes 1 week and then slowing added solids in. Every Doctor is different for what reason I do not know but I suggest you follow what your doctors says. Cheri -
Dark Circles Under Eyes, Tiredness, Dizziness, Fatigue
123crod replied to HezTri-s's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I suggest you get your thyroid checked. I had no problems with my thyroid until about 3 months after surgery. I do not think it had any thing to do with the band, just the timing but they put me on meds and i am still on them. I told him (doctor) not to put me on anything that would hamper my weight loss and he said it would not. Only takes a blood test to see whats going on. I spend 3 months so tired and sick looking, did not want to get out of bed, but keep losing weight, I can not say it was my thyroid that made me feel that way but it stopped after med and about 4 or 5 month. Get a blood test. Cheri -
Here is what I try to remember daily that we must change our way of thinking: “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” (Romans 12:2) Cheri

I don't really know how to ask this question??
123crod replied to Kymba's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My port is on the bottom of my braline in the middle and now that I have lost 84 lbs it does hurt if he puts a lot of weight or pressure there, but it is easy to avoid. You will figure out a way. Cheri -
I am 20 months out and take all my pills with a cup of coffee in the morning. They say warm liquid opens the band some. Cheri

Shock Collar? I would buy one. I lost my hunger after surgery and I am 20 months out and it is only head hunger that I am dealing with now but I will get a handle on that soon.. You can't worry about all the “what ifs”. It will drive you crazy. I was self pay and if something happens to my band I would just have to figure something out but it would work out. Cheri

Come on everybody calm down it is just different opinions. Of course we are not going to agree on everything but we should all act like adults. Learn from the threads above where people said “I sorry” How do we help each other when we name call and be rude to each other. Cheri

WHAT IS ON YOUR DO NOT EAT LIST?
123crod replied to lovemysgt's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Bread, oranges, watermelon, some chicken. Cheri -
Hopefully I can get myself together and be at that state of mind too. Not too sure what is wrong with me right now, not losing but not gaining. I am trying to straighten myself out. It is a mind game right now for me. Looking for change in the future. Cheri

I am gonna have to agree with fluffy. I have lost 84 lbs and still want to lose 15 or 20 lbs. If I go off track for some treat it takes me about two days to get back on track. I do not know why I do that but it really screws me up. That leads back yoyo dieting. I think it is GREAT for those of you who have more willpower than I do. I did in the beginning. But now it is like I am just going around in a circle. (20 months post -op) A lot of the problem is I watch my two grandbabies 2 and 4 several hours a day. And I have to keep stuff in the house for them that are not good for me. Then there is my skinny snack eating dear husband and all his stuff. If I just don't give in at all it is all the better for me. But I, and I think fluffy too just do not have what it takes to fight our triggers over and over again and we do not want to, so it is our way of working the Band, stay away for the triggers. Just a different point of view some people feel deprived if they can not have a treat once in a while so I say if it does not trigger you go for it. Also a good idea for planning out your week ahead to just maintain and not try to lose so you could have some fun! Cheri

It will be nice that you and your wife can cook the same food for both of you. How is your wife doing with the band? Good luck to both of you! Cheri

I am still trying to lose the last 15 lbs. It seems no matter what I do I can not drop it. I have not had a fill in a year but do not need one. So I just keep working out and watching what I eat. Cheri

Should I consider a partial unfill?
123crod replied to spoiltmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would give it a few days and see how you do, Chew really well and make good choices of food you know should not get stuck. If it does not change and you keep throwing up go for a very small unfill. I suffered way too long and had only .2 ccs taken out and it was the difference like night and day. Cheri -
When do you exercise?
123crod replied to spoiltmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

Has Anyone Been to a Support Group Meeting?
123crod replied to TheRealSouthernBelle's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I think support group meetings are great. You might need to try more than one place to find one you like. I go to one that is all weightloss people. The other is a very small one with people I have met on this forum and they all have bands. I love it I have become great friends with these people and we talk everyday on the phone. I went to one a couple of months but almost everyone had the Bypass and they kinda looked down on the two of us who had the Band. Stopped going to that one. Cheri -
I still feel fat myself. I still need to lose at least 15 more pounds. But I am wearing a size 10 pants and I am 167 lbs down from 251 lbs. but it seems I got smaller but my body is still the same shape as before. The fatter places are still fatter. I take a bath and still see rolls of fat only smaller. I want my body shape to change. In clothes I feel thinner but without clothes it is like nothing changed. Cheri

I am going to have to make another appointment and talk to him about it. I do not think the protein could be the cause and since it seems nobody else has had this problem. He might need to do a more advanced test to figure out what is going on. I do take several different meds but they all are prescriptions from him so he should know if it could be the cause you think. It just scared me some. Thanks everyone for your information and input! Cheri

Has anyone had any trouble with their kidneys since being banded? I am having trouble with them not functioning right. Seems it is due to too much protein. I do not even get the 60 gram my doctor told me to get in. Never any trouble before the band, Should I be worried? Cheri

Already hit my MAIN goal after 4 months!

Thats great!! You have worked hard! Cheri -
I workout almost every night on the total gym, for at least an hour sometimes more. Cheri

I went to Dr. and am repeating what he told me from blood work up. He says it has been this way since 3 months after I had surgery. It has been 20 months since surgery. It is the creatine (not sure how to spell it) that is too high. He seems to think it was too much protein. I drink plenty of water and some coffee and that is about all I drink. Cheri
