I do not drink I will tell you I think that it is gas. It is too earlly to be drinking in this Process it should go away in a couple of days, but you should call your Doctors office and see what they say about drinking? Empty calories Cheri

You remember nobody is promised a tomorrow. But you can not live your life in fear i did that for too many years and it will take years off of your life. If you have anxiety get some med for it. there are some that can be take only when needed and others that build up in your body to keep that feeling away or to where it is not the you only feeling you get. I lost My daddy at the age of 10 and still mourn for him, then my mother-in-law, soon my father in law, my nephew shot himself in the head, then a year ago my only bother overdosed on prescription drugs. I do not handle handle death good at all. I am a Christian and believe in Heaven and hope to be there one day. But I think you either have to trust God to always take care of you OR you need to get some counselng and learn ways for you to learn skills for coping when you get these feelings. I went to see a Christian Therapist for 3 years and still go back when I need to.One of the best thing I ever did Cheri

Hang in there before you know it surgery will be over with and your new life will begin. I have learned a lot from people on this site so visit often and go to and in-person support group too. I am 50 and wished I did it a whole lot early, but at least now I can run after my Grandbabies. My Granddaughter Olivia who is 4 years old talks about my Band all the time with everyone and anyone. She always wants to feel it so i let her feel my port. She makes up all kind of stories about my Band. Too funny!! Cheri -
Just wanna share and see what you have to say to me.

You dont know me. You just cant handle real honestly when you see it. I assume. I can handle real honesty but I do not think we are getting it from you and think you are lying to yourself. Cheri -

I really do not think this person is real. Nobody could really be like that. Somebody is having fun I think. It is too much for my brain to handle. Cheri -
I have to say I am from TEXAS too since everyone else did! Cheri

You really need to see a therapist. I went to counseling for 2 years so I can recommend it. You are not really being honest with yourself, you are just doing what you want and making excuses for it. We all (well most) have been there. Time to stop your behavior and get some help. Only you know if you really want to lose or why you are hanging on to the weight. Go find out what is going on. Candis, thanks for the compliment. I sometimes can't believe I am 50 it just seems so old to me. That picture is about 6 months old. A little makeup and a box of hair color makes a big difference. Yes, I only have 3.8 ccs in a 10cc band and that was put in at .50 cc each time. My Doctor went very slow with fills and it was good for me. I did have 4 ccs but had .20 taken out about a year ago as I was too tight. On the day of surgery I was 251 lbs and now 165 - 167 lbs depending on the day. Want to drop another 15 lbs but it is slow going. But happy with the 84 lbs gone. This thread has been so much fun getting to know about everyone. Almost everyone is a pet lover and there a quite a few nurses. Can't wait to see who is next.

10 weeks post op-FEELING YUCKY ABOUT MYSELF?

Men lose weight faster than women do most of the time so don't compare yourself to your husband. You are doing great, just give it some more time. Cheri -
Poll: What was your longeest "episode"?
123crod replied to sdpressl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had vomiting since I first got the Band and once I was stuck so bad but it would not go up or down so my body was still trying to vomit it up and after a while I vomited some blood but was still stuck. Twenty minutes later I was vomiting blood clots. I was at a support group meeting at the time. Freaked my friends out. I called my Doctors office and they gave his cell number as it was a Saturday afternoon. I called him and he told me to get some Water and drink a tiny sip which I did and threw up more blood. Then I continued to take tiny sips for the next 10 minutes and thank God it went down. He told me he would meet me at the office in an hour if I needed to. I am more than an hour away from his office.I felt totally better and did not go in he told me to be on liquids for 3 days and that I had busted some blood vessals and that was what it was. For some reason the first year and a couple of months when I got stuck it always had to come up and out it would NEVER go down no matter how long I waited it out and I waited it out many times the longest was about 8 hours. I could feel it trying to go through the Band but was like stuck in the middle could not go either way. I also suffer from anixiety and the stuck feeling starts me in the direction of a panic attack. I usually have to let my med for anxiety dissolve on my tongue as it would not go down. My Doctor and I could never figure what was wrong. I had a Floro at every office vist, only have 3.8 cc in 10 cc Band. But after a while things just changed and things started going down instead of up. Almost everytime I have ever been stuck was with some type of chicken. I still get stuck some but not like in the first year. I know sometimes it is my fault as I do not chew enough. If I go out and eat with my son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren I can not sit next to the 4 year old as she talks so much I can not chew as she is waiting for an answer. Even with all the throwing up in the beginning I love my band and do not regret getting it. Cheri -
Saw a preview of Dr. Oz's show for Monday's and it is suppose to be about weightloss surgery. Not sure if he will talk in favor of it or against just wanted to pass that along. Cheri

I am almost 2 years post op and I still struggle. I have lost 84 lbs and still would like to lose 20 lbs. The thing is if you have a bad day stop it right then or it will be too hard to stop. Good luck and welcome the the boards. There are a lot of very kind and smart people here with good advice and a kick in the butt when you need it and know you do! Cheri

My advice to you from my own experience one bad weekend not that bad, but stop it now before it goes on too many days because then it becomes so much harder to stop it. Like the post before mine tomorrow is a new day start over. Good luck! Cheri

Dr. Oz about WLS Monday
123crod replied to 123crod's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I watched the show and thought that Dr. Oz did a fair job of putting forward the works of the band and band surgery and interviewing the two guests that are contemplating LB surgery. What I did think was not a realistic portrayal of the "norm" was the amount of food eaten by the two guests that have had LB surgery. Not saying what they laid out on the tray is not what they eat on a daily basis...just saying I doubt it is the norm. The one showed that she ate maybe 4 small teaspoons of yogurt for BF, 1 cup of broth for lunch and what looked like 4 small teaspoons of pudding for dinner. By far.... way less than I eat on a daily basis almost 3 yrs out. I totally agree with you, I was starting to think I was eating way too much. She must be really tight or have the tiniest pouch I ever heard of. But it was a good show! Also just a note about Elfiepoo, when I post something I always hope she comments on it. I respect her opinion as someone who has lost a lot of weight and seems very knowlegable and open minded. Cheri -
