Hi my name is Rita. My whole life I have struggled with my weight. As a child I was made fun of for my weight by the other children and did not have a lot of friends. By the time i was about 18 i saw some Christmas photos and decided I was too overweight. At this point I was about 205 lbs. So i went on a no carb diet, drank a lot of water, ate salads for lunch and did crunches and push ups every nite before bed. By June I was down to 150 lbs and felling wonderful. I kept the weight off until 2006, so that's 2 years! Then i became pregnant and thougtht I could eat everything I wanted and loose it all after the baby was born. Well when I delivered my beautiful daughter in Sept. 2006 I weighed 242 lbs. Then I lost the baby weight to bring me to 222 lbs. and nothing has worked to get off the weight. I have even managed to gain weight so finally in December 2008 I decided to see Dr. Washington about surgery. I at first wanted a gastric bypass but then I saw the risks so I have decided to go with a Lap- Band.
