Starting day 11 of my pre-op diet - things have slowed down a little (lost 9.4lb in 10 days) but i'm not complaining! I got my surgery date set for September 10th so now the countdown begins.... skeeered lol!

I am so excited - just had my pre-op consultation with my doctor and I'm scheduled for surgery next thursday (September 10th) :biggrin:. Had no idea it could happen that quickly. Good luck to anyone else getting banded this month -

I am on day 6 of a 2 week pre-op diet and I've lost 7.2lb in 5 days. I think the 20lb is very do-able and possibly more! Good luck with your surgery - hope it goes well for you! -

So I'm starting day 5 of my 2-week pre-op diet. I am so excited to have already lost 5.5lb in just 4 days. I need to lose 14.5 to qualify for surgery so I still have a ways to go and it IS tough but this is one diet I'm not cheating on! The sooner I lose these 14.5lb the sooner I can have my surgery:tt2:

Thanks for the messages... I'm starting day 4 of the pre-op diet. Its getting easier every day (First day was the worst). My consultation with dr is next week thursday.

Just thought I'd let u know I started my pre-op diet today (2 weeks). My consult with dr is only on 9/3 but they are allowing me to start the diet early so i can get banded sooner as my hubby will be away first 10 days of october and i wanna be sure there are no complications before he leaves.

Nice to hear from you. I just scheduled my consultation with the surgeon today. I asked them if I could start the required 2 week pre-op diet on my own (before the consultation) so that I could get the earliest possible surgery date (eeeeeeeekkkk). So my consultation with the surgeon is on September 3rd! Can't wait. I will probably start the pre-op diet tomorrow (just got it emailed to me today). Thinking of you!

What type of anaesthesia is used for Lapband procedure?

It seems that in most cases I've read on here that an inhaled form of anaesthesia is used for Lapband surgery. I know I have to discuss this with my doctor when I meet with him but I kinda wanted to find out some more info ahead of time. Does one have an option for an alternative form of anaesthesia other than the inhaled type? Thanks... -

No, I was wondering if there was perhaps an injected version of anethesia that could be used instead of the inhaled anethetic. And, separate question.... Does anyone know what the name of the actual inhaled anesthetic is that is used. Thanks -
Okay, well I today I found out that my Insurance is not going to cover my procedure so I'm probably going to have to self pay (that sucks)! The good news is that because I will be self pay the whole process is gonna speed up quite considerably.... skeeered now! lol:scared2:
