I am so excited now. I have have been to all the required pre-op visits. Set some goals and now I have started the All Liquid Diet today. I was on the scale today to see what I weighed at this point. It was a scary sight of 254 lbs. I have the support of my husband and children along with lots of friends and family. I am just so excited it is getting closer. I am being banded on 7-22-10 in Norwood MA by Dr Adam Glasgow. :rolleyes2:

April 23, 2010 Today was a great not only because it was Stephanies (my neice)Birthday but it is the beginning of my Banding journery. I went to see Dr. Adam Glasgow. He is great. I weighed in at 253 lbs and and 5'7" so that makes my BMI right at 40. Dr Glasgow said that I am heathy enough to have to surgery. I just have to do the normal stuff like the Sleep Study, see the Nutrionist and a physcologist. I have my appoitment for the Nutrionist on May 11th. I called BCBS and they said that they do cover all visits as long as the provider is in their network. This was great news.

Hi Lindsey, When you had your surgery was it done as a outpaitent or overnight stay? I am looking into the process of getting banded. I have met with Dr Glasgow in Norwood. -
Hi I am wanting to get the lapband done. I am 32 with a BMI of 40. I live in Millville, MA have BC/BS of Ma and trying to find a good dr. I would prefer one to do it as a out paient procedure. I really like being home and not in a Hospital. Any one have any good Drs that they can reccomend?

I have not completely thrown the hospital stay out the door. I would just prefer not to. I have had 2 surgeries that were more extensive than the lapband seems to be. I have had Ovarian Cysts removed and scar tissue removed from them also. Along with the Utreus removed from the Bowel. All this is caused from being over weight. Then 9 mos later I had my Gallbladder removed. And neither of these were a over night stay. My ins had said at both surgeries that if it required a over night stay it would pay. I have tried weight watchers, regular diets and anything new that came up and with all I had no luck. I have done my homework and really want to have this done.
