You are definitely not alone. I have 1.9 cc in a 4 cc band and can 2 to 3 cups of food. I'm going for my second fill next week and hopefully that will do the trick.

Hi everyone. I was banded in Sept and had my first fill in October. I've been pretty much been able to eat anything (just less) until tonight. I had my first PB on a piece of dry chicken. I was sliming for hours and am now starting to feel a little better. My worry is that I can't even keep down Water now. Has anyone ever had this problem after a PB and is there any rules or restrictions I should follow after having one? I would appreciate any help. Now I'm paranoid that I might have slipped my band. Thanks again:) Coreen

I know what you mean. I PB'd on water at work and didn't think I was gonna make it to the restroom.

About Camphell's 98% fat free soups
RHCPgirl replied to melipooh9's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
It depends on what stage you are at. Cream soups were fine after my clear liquid stage, but was told to watch liquid calories when I started solids. -
Fluoro for me. I just had my first fill and it was interesting to see the liquids I was drinking pass through the band. Eventhough it's more expensive I like that fact that he could tell my band and stomach were looking good...I was banded not that long ago so it was comforting.

It's when a piece of food gets stuck. For me it happened cuz the chicken was too dry and I didn't chew enough. It felt like pressure on my chest and finally I threw up, but it wasn't food it was a bunch of saliva (which is know as slime). Then came the food...not pretty at all. Feeling better now...taking small sips of liquids and seem to be doing good so far this evening.

Well I guess the good news is I won't be eating too much on Thanksgiving...lol. I'm probably not gonna try anything else today and hopefully tomorrow will be a better day. Thanks for all the support!

Thank you so much for responding. I didn't get any sleep last worrying that I might have slipped my band. I tried have a some water today and it came right back up. I'm hoping I just irritated the heck out of it and not something more serious. Maybe I'm taking too big of sips...I'm gonna try the spoon. Thanks again.

How much does the surgery cost in Mexico?
RHCPgirl replied to CheriCline's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
I paid $8,500 to be banded by Dr. Ortiz. I can't say enough good things about my experience with him and his staff. -
What is your current fill in your 4cc band?
RHCPgirl replied to Paulax's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I was banded on Sept 11th and just had my first fill...1.9 cc in a 4 cc band. I see a difference in how much I can eat, but can still eat more than 1/2 cup food. I'm gonna give this fill a couple weeks then decide if I need to go back for another. -

Robin, I had surgery with Dr. Ortiz in Sept and had my first fill this pass Saturday. You are going to be in good hands. I can't say enough good things about him and his staff. -
Chris you are very correct. I was banded by Dr. Ortiz and he mentioned that chewing was a problem for some people with bad teeth. He didn't look at my teeth, but he asked about them. In fact, he is in the process of putting a dental office in his clinic.

I was banded by Dr. Ortiz on Sept 11th. Everyone there is so nice and I couldn't of asked for better care. Your DH will be able to stay at the hotel the night you are in the hospital. The room is yours until you leave.

Hey Kirsten, It was Shanna Moakler that got voted off. I guess she didn't have the fan votes cuz I thought she danced better than Harry Hamlin: ) Coreen

The core plan is a list of certain healthy foods that you can eat as much of till satisfied. The key is till satisfied...which never worked for me before the band...lol. You still get 35 flex points for treats and things that aren't on the list. Hope this helps.

You look incredible. Congratulations.

RHCPgirl replied to cindyn's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'm going to Eastern Carribean...my first cruise. My goal is just to try not to gain at this point: ) I hope I don't eat everything on the ship knowing that it will be liquids for the next 7 days when I get back...lol. -
Anyone with Sept 11 as their banding date?
RHCPgirl replied to cindyn's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'm being banded on Sept. 11th by Dr. Ortiz, TJ. I haven't started a pre-op diet. I'm leaving on a cruise Saturday, so I will really have to buckle down when I get back to try to lose my 10 lbs. I am so ready to start this journey. -
Bettina - I hope you had good luck with your stare down and spanish final...lol. Just wanted to let you know that I just got the book and it's very informative. A must have for anyone thinking of getting the band. Take Care

I was planning on being banded in Mexico in Sept. I had finally made up my mind but then my mom's friend (who is a nurse) said she wouldn't recommend it. She said that if I were to have complications and had to go to the dr or hospital my insurance wouldn't cover it and could actually drop me for have a procedure out of country. Is that true? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks, Coreen:help:

Snowflake - I'm due to banded on Sept 16th and am feeling the exact same way. It's comforting to know that I'm not the only one out there feeling this.

I saw something about this on the news. It was a lady who ended up with tons (was not even able to get in her car) of extra skin after being banded. The skin was donated to burn victims, but I believe the dr who did the tummy tuck did it for free because of her situation. I only was able to half pay attention.

Same here luv it...not much results, but when/if I get banded I plan on counting points. I've been on WW on and off for years...I still attend meetings: ) Coreen
