Is anyone else as tired as I am of throwing up, shoulder pain and the loss/gain of weight? I've had my band for quite some time and I have litterly had to start the whole process over again and again. When I first was banded I lost almost 80 lbs. I was super excited and felt amazing. Then life kicked me in the a$$. Husband lost his job, lost our insurance and daughter got pregnant all in about 6 mo. With in that time Stress took over my life and I gained almost all my weight back. STRESS EATING around the band is what did me in. Maintained my weight gain for 2 years. Went back to dr after we got insurance again and started from scratch. Fill, Pre op diet. 1100 cal diet. Started losing again. Lost almost all I regained until I hit a stopping point. Wasn't losing for anything. And boom. Got hit with the worse stress ever. Lost my dad on January 7 of 14, lost my father in law January 9 of 14, and found out I was gonna be a Nana again. So the weight was slowly comn back. Yep u guessed it. Constantly getting sick, the shoulder pain from drinking, gaining weight and getting tight. Finally I had them take all but 3cc out of my band. I've gained all my weight back and at 1 point I didn't care. I was able to eat and not get sick, able to drink and not get the pain. I was being selfish. Well now I'm having the"fat girl panic attacks" at night. Those dreaded ones about having a heart attack and not surviving. I'm now to the point of having this out and doing a revision. I just want to feel normal. Sent from my SM-N900V using the BariatricPal App

Update. My dr drained my band as of Wednesday. Said it was am irritation to my outer pouch. I inky has 3.75cc in it. We are going to wait a few days to see what happens then go from there. Sent from my SM-N900V using the BariatricPal App

Just wondering how everyone was doing who got banded in July 2010. What is ur weightloss? What foods do you avoid? What is still your weakness? What can u still eat that u did before the band? What things happen that totally puzzle you? Have you found ways around your band? I was banded July 16, 2010... I have lost 70lbs so far. Foods to avoid: Bread-Noodles- sliced deli meats Ice Cream and Hot Caramel Mocha w/nonfat milk are my total weakness Pretty much anything i haven't mentioned in my foods to avoid. Slime totally puzzles me.. And the Loud from your toes burps. I tell my hubs it just means my pouch just emptied. If I drink something HOT first thing in the Morning I am good all day. If I drink something cold I am only doing liquids that day.

I was banded in July '10. Things were going great. I had lost almost 70 lbs and was feelin great. Then my husband lost his job and we lost our insurance. We have struggled pretty bad. His insurance paid 80% of my surgery but with only my income I couldn't afford to pay on my bill and being ashamed of that I haven't been back to the Dr since. It's been over a year since my last visit/fill. Everything was going good. Then the stress started, and the depression. Seemed like every time I ate or drank I didn't get full. I was eating a whole footlong flatbread sub. Or a regular meal then the very next day I couldn't even get a drink of water to go down. This would go on for a few days then it would be back to eating everything. Well as of today I have gained back 10lbs and I have been stuck since Saturday. Only able to eat minimal and drink sips slowly. And when I'm stuck i get a hard dull pain right in the middle of my chest and I automatically head to the restroom. What comes out is nothing but what looks like slime. I seriously need to see a Dr but I'm sure he won't even look at me since I haven't touched that bill. We still have no ins and the hubs is about to be on a permanent layoff from his new job. I'm at a loss as what to do but I can't keep this up. Scared to death. Any suggestions out there?

I live in Weldon..... I was banded July 2010 in Champaign by Dr. Rohrscheib... I am down 70 lbs. I have had ups and downs. I now am trying to get back on track. I am the type who wants to lose it slow so I dont have a lot of excess skin. I have some restriction. More so in the morning than evening. I am trying to stick to a low cal diet... So far I am doing awesome. 2lbs a week. work out on my elliptical everynight.... Best of luck on your new Journey.... This website is amazing.

Nope I am saying if I drink something Hot in the morning I dont have a bit of problems getting food down. I usually never have a stuck moment. I guess it loosens up the opening. If I drink something cold, Like Muscle Milk i am extremely tight all day and have a real hard time with anything.

So Totally Frustrated with everything.....
ruslgrl2 posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ok here is the situation..I went for my Pre op visit last Wednesday. My surgery is scheduled for July 16th at 10;30AM. Anyway i started my pre-op diet friday which consists of 2 Protein shakes a day 1 for breakfast and 1 for lunch. all the liquids i want and a sensable dinner at night(smart ones ect.) plus my snacks. When i was weighed at the dr office I was at 313.6. I have followed this diet to a T and i went to my mother in laws house today. I weighed myself and her scale said 306. Now i know scales differ and im accepting of this. When i told my sister in law i had lost a possible 7lbs SHE WENT OFF. Started yelling at me telling me if I just follow this and start watching what I ate I dont need the surgery. Screamed and said she was not saying another word. Then on top of it all Beings its the 4th of July she decided to cook out. Made everything I loved just to see if I would crack. Pork steak, Brats, Pork Chops, Corn on cob. OMG who would do this??? I mean really... I ran to walmart and got my own scale and a few other things. Crystal light, Vitamins & water. Anyways I get back to the house and no one will even speak to me except my husband. I had had enough. We left and came home. I opened the scale and weighed myself.. Now the new scale said I was 314.4...Ugggghhh how can this be? I am to the point of just giving up all together. Today has been the most worse day of this whole journey so far... Thanks for listening. Jamie -

Hey everyone....sorry just now getting back to this... been busy on pre op diet. As for my sister in law... She is actually close to 190 i say. She is one of those "fad" girls. She has spent some money on the latest fad. "the shoes" She has been trying to lose weight for about 12 years now after her last child was born. She walks on her lunch hour but thats about all she does. Doesnt really watch what she eats or any of that. Even her bff said she is just jealous cause i will be skinny and healthier than her, and i am actually doing something about my health and the way i feel and she isnt. I just ignore her and go on about my day. hehehe...she will never get me down again... The Scale.......I havent stepped on a scale since this post was posted... I am just worried i havent lost any weight on this pre op... also ?? is it possible to drink too much water in a day? i have been drinking about 6 -9 16.9 oz bottles. along with my protein shakes and my sensable dinner.. My Surgery is this Friday and i am freaking out but totally excited. Will post more later. Smooches to all......Jamie -

All of my stuff was submmitted back on March 25th. My ins confirmed to me they received everything on April 1st. I waited about 3 weeks and called. They said it takes 30 to 45 days to decide. So i waited 2 more weeks and called back. The next person said it takes 45 days and its still in review. By now its May 12 and my Dr. office called to tell me they couldn't get a live person and had me call again.I did and yet again I got the same thing but this time my ins told me they will put an expadite status on it. I called my Dr. office and told them. She told me to check back this week. I called yesterday and once again got the "in review"status and was also told its going to take 7-10 business days after. I am so discouraged right now just wonderin will ever get approved.Do I stick with it or just give up? MAN waiting sucks....:w00t:

"Pre-Op"...BOY was I wrong!
ruslgrl2 replied to BriBri90's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
BriBri...I know how your feeling when it comes to quitting smoking.. When i started this journey last year and found out my surgeon expected me to be smoke free 2mo prior to surgery I freaked. I loved smoking. Then one night out with some friends I got extremely Intoxicated and ended up with alcohol poisening. I was sick for 3 days. I didn't even want to think about smoking or drinking again. Once I felt back to my old self I wanted to smoke again but thought its been 3 days why start back when im going to have to quit for the surgery. I was a total "B" to everyone around me.. I finally decided tl try tic tacs. THEY ARE AMAZING!!!! They curbed my withdrawls and helped me drastically. My quit dayis July 18 2009. and i feel great.. I can breath so much better and my skin looks alot healthier. Best Of Luck and I know you can do it. -

Hiya My name is Jamie. I live in Weldon which is between Clinton and Champaign. I am just finishing up my 6mo supervised diet and have to schedule my next dr appmt. My dr is Dr R from Clinton. I am trying to figure out what my next step is going to be. I dont have very many supporters in this and i just feel lost. My biggest supporters are 2 ladies that i have become friends with who have had the surgery. My husband does support me but he also supported me when i put the dbl cheeseburgers and fries in my mouth. He always tells me he loves me for me. Which is great. When i get excited about the journey and whats to come he always has a remark of negativity in my eyes and it brings me down. I would love to find some more supporters and I think i have came to the right place. Thanks for listening. Smooches  -
Hello my name is Jamie. I am 37 years old and I am on the journey of having the Lapband done. I have been over weight ever since the birth of my daughter 18 years ago. I have a few friends that have had this done and they say its the best thing they could have done. I have been on this sight for sometime now just lurking in the background reading and learning everything I can. I have decided to have my surgery thru Dr. Sid Rohrscheib's office in Clinton, IL. His staff really makes you feel at ease. I have already got the ball rollin. I am in my 6 mo supervised diet right now. Ive already had my phy eval and consultation. The reason I am just now posting is because I am in need of motivation and support. My husband and daughter are basically my only supporters. My in-laws ALWAYS say "diet and exercise will do the same thing" One of my friends who had the lapband done last April. Well her sister tells me all the time not to do it. That its the worst mistake of my life. I inform her all the time "you dont live in my body. you dont know what its like to be big like me. you dont live in the pain and fear everyday somethings gonna happen. You dont have the problem of smells and not feeling completely clean even after you shower cause you just couldn't quite reach back there. Yet she still sticks to her suggestion. I have been on my 6mo diet almost 3 mo. I go again next Monday. So far the first mo i lost 5.9lb. woohoo...The second I gained 4.6 back :-( The dr said i was doing Amazing cause i did that over the Holidays. So now its almost weigh in time. I am scared to death. Whats gonna happen if i gain more? I am staying true to my diet and exercise he put me on.. Well I have taken up alot. So until next time. Thanks in advance for all your support and advice. Much Love, Jamie
