I had my surgery in August of 2010 and as of today i've lost 60lbs. I feel like a failure too. When i had my surgery i said next year at this time i'll be wearing shorts and tank tops and cute bathing suits. Well this summer came and went and i was still in my capri's and short sleeve t shirts. It's hard, a lot harder then i thought it would be, especially when everyone around you hasn't changed. My sister wants to go out to eat here and there and my mom makes all these snacks on sunday's for football, how do you say no to all of that?! Don't feel like a failure because its really hard and anyone who says this is an easy process has to be lying.
