I am 39 years old...banded July 26, 2009. I met my goal of 100lbs of weight loss. I became pregnant in January, 2012...with TWINS!!!! I am 29 weeks and I have gained 28 pounds, but I am pretty miserable right now. In the last week, things are getting stuck and I am only consuming liquids. My drs want me to gain 15 pounds before delivery so that my boys will get bigger. I will deliver early at 36 because of the high risk twin pregnancy I am having. I don't mind gaining more weight for them. They have to be 5 lbs each in 7 weeks...so I have to fatten up a little more. Normal twin pregnancies suggest the average woman gain 40-45 pounds and I will be on target with that, but will have to have my band adjusted. My lapband dr says he is only going to take 1/2 out. I am happy with that. I cried making the phone call but I know it is for the boys. Prior to getting pregnant, I was so happy with my weight loss. I will have 1/4 of the 1/2 put back in four weeks after the c-section and then go from there. I am so thrilled my dr is not taking it all out. I don't need it all out, just loosened a little. Thick soups are giving me problems and that is when I knew I needed to get the adjustment.
