I must have found the right group because I have trouble sleeping too. I will sleep for a couple of hours and wake up and then my mind starts racing about what I need to do the next day or what I didnt do the previous day. Laura, you dont really know me because I have only posted a few times, but I really admire you. How you joined to Peace Corps, how youre such a good mom and how well you take care of your family. Im single and can hardly find time to feed the dog and cats (thank goodness they complain when they are hungry!). I agree with Janet, I hate food. Some days its alll I think about. What have I eaten, what can I eat, why cant I eat that , why did I eat that? Then I watch the news and see about the poor people in Haiti and how good my life really is and then I think about food somemore! Mrs. Bubba -hope you get some relief with your pain.

Hello All, when i was little I wanted to be a vet but my dad said I wasnt good enough in science so I should be a lawyer. I went to one semester of law school and quit and went to work on a horse farm. After about 4 years of that I decided to go back to school to be a vet. My parents were very supportive and at graduation my dad apologiized for steering me in another direction!(my dad didnt apologize often). Im lucky to be doing what I love but on days when its so cold out ,I wish I lived some where else. I would love to know how to destress. I got home tonight and found a rather large bill in the mail that I wasnt aware of and the first thing that popped into my head was EAT. Instead, I rode my recumbant bike for 30 mins and showered and now Im going to eat my fish and veggies for dinner. Mrs. Bubba hope your neck is better. I have a bone spur and buldging disc and finally found some relief with a chiropractor. Have a good night. Janet ,if you are trying to introduce a new puppy into your house hold there are some tips on Ceasar Milans website that should be pretty helpful.

Thanks for making me feel so welcome. My name is Lisa and as I said I'm a vet. I work mostly on race horses and also do some breeding and foaling. I'm like you Mrs.Bubba I dont want to ride them either! I work a lot and in my spare time I like to read and watch tv. I dont have kids but lots of nieces and nephews and I really enjoy them. I have been overweight my whole life and have tried many diets, lost and gained, etc. I decided to do this after loosing both my parents in a 3 month period. My dad was also overweight and a diabetic. He was a double amputee,on dialysis and loosing his eyesight when he passed away. He worked so hard all his life and would have loved to travel once he was retired but was unable to do so because of his health. I dont want that to be me. My mom passed away 3 months latter and had just the opposite problem... she never weighed more than 95 lbs her whole life . I thought I better do something while I had the chance. I would like to (or as Janet would say I will)loose another 50lbs. I too am reading the Beck book and really like it. Ok enough about me ,Thursday is my day off(I only work about 4 hours if I'm lucky:smile2:) so i need to go do some laundry. Thank you for making me feel welcome. Lisa

Hi, I was wondering if you guys had room for one more person. I have been reading this thread for a while and I really like all the advice and friendship that is passed around. I was banded in July 2009 and seem to struggle along daily with losing weight. I have lost 55lbs since then but fell off the wagon around Christmas time. I seem to be back on but its one day at a time. I am single, 45yrs, no kids (unless you count 1 dog and 3 cats). I'm a veterianarian who works almost exclusivley on horses. I live in Ohio and really am not enjoying the cold weather. Thanks for letting me join in.
