  1. I was banded on Aug. 12, 2009, and I still have that same sounds sometime. I was told by my RN that the gurgling noise is just your stomach adjusting to something new being placed inside of your body. I have notice that it is less now. I am still sore around the port area and stomach still swollen. I have a large bruise in an area of my stomach where there is no incision. Don't know why. I started walking the next day after surgery, which really helped with the gas pain in shoulder area. I am now up and walking at 5am 3 miles everyday. This has help me not to be so sore.
  2. I'm glad to hear you are feeling good. I have started walking every morning about 2 miles. I have lost 8lbs in 3 days. I believe it is because i'm wlaking. Overall I feel really good. Just still really sore at the port area.

  3. I just got home today. I had surgery on Wed. (Aug. 12, 09). For me it was a breeze. I did have a little pain in my chest that moved to my shoulder. I got out of bed last night and walked the hallways at the hospital and it helped a lot. I am glad that part is over. Im looking forward to my success. To think, I was about to cancel because I was so scared and unsur of myself:thumbup:.

    banded 8/11..still so weak?

Please give yourself time to heal. Everyone does not heal at the same pace. Your took a lot of time researching and collecting the information about the Lapband. Recovery should have also been one of the most important pieces of information that you read. So chill out, relax and read a good book. Fanasize about how good your are going to look. Your body will do what it needs to do and that is heal at it's own pace. Good luck.
  5. Well, I'm over being scared. I feeing better by the minute. I have started walking 2 times a day. I have to walk, to help with the gas pains I'm having. I walked about 2 mile this morning and feel great. I can only eat 3 or 4 spoons of broth. But otherwise this went better than I thought.
  6. Abbypoo, How are you doing?

I went thru my surgery without a hitch. I am only a little sore. I can only take a couple sips of water. I get these gas bubbles after I eat or dink. I have to walk to get rid of the gas.

    Thanks

  10. I too was totally scared out of my witts about having surgery. I had surgery 2 days ago and everything went just find. I'm not in any pain. I sometimes get a gas bubble and it kind of hurt but I go for a short walk and that helps make it go away. RestlessMonkey and ours were so encouraging. I felt I was in good hands here. Goodluck to you and know that we will be praying for you.
  11. Tomorrow (aug 12, 09) I'm being banded. I know I will be starting a new life. I am so scared that I feel like I will just to run. I keep asking myself if this is the right thing to do. 15. RestlessMonkey, I think it's just having sugery in general that I'm worried about. As with everything in life "you always want a successful outcome." Yes, I have had surgery before and it was still the same. I think I always have generalized anxiety.

    Hello from Tempe, AZ

Hello, all of you Arizona bandsters. I live in Avondale, AZ. I getting banded on August 12, 09. I am so glad that there are so many of us from Arizona here. I went to Bridges Centre at St. Lukes Medical Center and Dr. Daniel Fang is my surgeon. I was referred by several of my friends to Bridges. I have been told by my Cadiac Spec. that Dr. Fang is the top doctor in AZ, that has performed more surgeries than any other doctor. The St. Luke Bridges Centre for Weight Management Program earned the Centre of Excellence Award by the Surgical Review Corporation (SRC). Hope this little tidbit of information will help someone that is looking to find a doctor.

    Extra Skin

Thanks for the info. I'm having surgery on Aug. 12, 09. Having the surgery doesn't worry me as much as what happens after the weight loss, if I will have saggy skin. I guest I better plan on a TT also.
