Compression Garment During WLoss Minimize Loose Skin?
lingra replied to taz lady's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wear the Spanks, that Oprah rave's about. It shapes you and hold everything in nicely. It makes you look much slimmer and body smooth, no bluges. I even wear them and work out in them. I have the one that comes up to your bra lines and goes down to my calves. It will definitely hold you in. Go ahead and try them, they are great. A boost to your confidence will surely help. -

Christmas Weightloss Challenge
lingra replied to Fluffy Jen's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sorry to report that I have gained 4 lbs. I had a fill on Nov. 17, 2009 of .4cc. I was to full and couldn't keep anything down. I went back to the doctor on Dec 1. 2009 and was totally unfilled. So now I'm struggling to keep my weight down. I'm schedule to have a fill on Dec.15, 2009. So, my goal now is to not gain anymore weight before my fill. I know I won't reach my goal to lose 20 lbs by xmas. Before this all happen I was 10 lbs from my goal. Congrats to all of you who are marching forward to you goal. -
On Nov. 17, 09, I had my 3rd fill. I was a little tight for a few days, which I expected to be. I couldn't get anything to stay down. I stayed on liquids for 6 days. Things started to get better, but now I'm back vomiting. Certain things I can eat well, but my problem foods are chicken, fish and shrimp. I was seen today and the doctor totally unfilled me. Stated that I have to stay on liquids for 2 weeks and hopefully I didn't slip my band. If everything goes well the next 2 weeks he will start over from the beginning with my fills. I was at 4.4CC in my band. This is such a BUMMER. I'm relieved to not be vomiting, but dreading heading back to BANDSTER HELL.

Unfilled, relieved but sad

I sat down and ate dinner last night without vomiting. Just that alone made me feel much better. Not having to jump up a run to the bathroom was great. -
Unfilled, relieved but sad

That's exactly what I don't want to do is gain weight. This is hard enough. Yes, I must increase my workout time and work harder. -
I just went to my doctor today and found out that being over-filled will cause damage to the band. I have the same symtoms as you. I was totally unfilled. Be Careful and don't try to live with being over-filled. It will cause you to have another surgery to fix the damage. Which is what I could be looking at from being overfilled.

Any book recommendations?
lingra replied to SumSum's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello Starting-overin-AZ, I was also a patient with Dr. Fang. I know both he and Dr Juarez share the same practice. I was banded on Aug. 12, 2009. I have been trying to meet others here in AZ, so we can all talk with each other. It would be nice to have a group of Arizonans that could meet maybe once a month. If you know of any type of group, please let me know. Please email me at lingra@cox.net. Again, it's so nice to here from others in sunny AZ. -
Christmas Weightloss Challenge
lingra replied to Fluffy Jen's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well, I made it thru the holiday without gaining a pound, but I didn't lose any either. So, I'm blessed to have enjoyed thanksgiving with my friends, family. -
I had a small fill on 11/17/09, of .4cc. This has caused me to be only able to eat 2 spoons of anything. I have been on liquids for 6 days now. I tried eating meat or soft veggies and it was very hard to get down and keep it down. The sliming starts and then I start vomiting. This happens at least 2 or 3 times a day since the fill. AM I OVER FILLED?

Okay, count me in. I will try to lose 20lbs, but if I exercise and lose anything, then I will consider myself a winner. -
Artificial Sweeteners?
lingra replied to NoName-AZ's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello starting-overin AZ, I was banded on 08-12-09, My doctor states that the sweetners causes you to become hungry. That is the reason for not wanting you, to use any kind of sweetners or sugar. I also asked about SoBe Lifewater, it has zero calories and zero sugar, but is naturally sweetened. My doctor said no to this also. -
Has anyone felt weird after their fill?
lingra replied to tke100's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have the same symtoms after a fill. I had a fill on Oct. 20, 2009, and I felt achy all over. This continued for 2 days. I also notice this the first time I got a fill. After a couple of days then I feel fine. -
Today I had my 2nd fill 1cc. I was previously given 2cc. I had surgery on Aug. 12, 2009 and even today I still don't have restriction.
-
I had the same thing to happen to me. I was eating fish and it became stuck. It wouldn't go down or come back up. It was so severe that my husband tried the hymulich maneuver and that still didn't work. I was having severe chest pains and severe hiccups. I tried taking little sips of water and that was a bigger disaster. I did throw-up, but thru my nose. I tried sips of pineapple juice and that didn't work. After all of this time it finally moved and went down. I was in the bathroom for 1 hour and 15 minutes. I think this happen because the fish was dry.

I am doing very well. I have lost 25 pounds. I walking 5 miles every morning. How are you doing?
-
Yes! It's not just me. I have seen so many post about a lot of us, that are unable to eat chicken. I tried eating a piece of chicken last saturday and thought I was going to die. It was stuck and would not move. This is the 3rd time this has happened with chicken. I've tried it cooked several different ways and kept it very moist. I ate a very small piece and chewed it to death. Now, I'm afraid of chicken and will not try to eat it again.

When u were 2 months post op, how much did u lose?
lingra replied to MsFab1988's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am feeling you pain. I had surgery on August 12, 2009. I have lost 22 lbs total. I didn't have to do a pre diet. But the one thing I'm able to do, that I couldn't do before is walk 5 miles every morning. I am exercising and still at a plateau. I just want to keep the lbs dropping even if it's 1-2 pounds a week. I am hoping to get my first fill within the next couple of weeks. My doctor was adamant about not getting a fill before 6 to 8 weeks after surgery. Good luck to you and don't give up. -
I have used the Isopure Zero Carb by whey ( Strawberries and creme flavor). It has 50g of Protein and 210 calories. I mix it with skim milk and add a banana and 5 fresh stawberries. I have 2 shakes a day (Breakfast and lunch) that gives me a 100g of protein. I try to eat a real meal for dinner. I am still in the mushy phase. I was banded on Aug.12, 2009. I don't know how much protein we are supposed to have daily. I'm trying to avoid any more hair loss. My hair loss came from just the natural process of aging. http://www.tickerfactory.com/ezticker/ticker_designer.php

I was banded on August 12, 09. I am also starving. I called my doctors office and was told by my doctor that i could have protein shakes. I have lost only 18lbs. I am on mushy foods. I was told that i wont get a fill until about 6 to 8 weeks from my surgery date. My weight loss is from me walking 4 miles a day and working out at the gym. If I don't watch what I eat, I will gain 2 or 3 lbs back.
