I am going to go for 60 miles this month. Unfortunately my treadmill decided to die . Been hoofing it outside though..works just as well. Good luck to all!!

I really think what happened is that he filled the band too much causing an obstruction therefore causing me to experience the vomitting episodes leading to the slippage. Just my opinion for what it is worth. I am still rather pissed at him because he wants to point the finger at me. Said I over ate. Imagine overeating from Thurs. to Fri. when I couldn't hold a popsicle down.

You certainly are not alone kid. My mother-in-law does the same thing. She not only fixes the wrong type of food but is hell bent on making dessert, my husband and my father-in-law are both diabetic. Needless to say, it is not sugarfree desserts. People seem to think the band is a magical instrument, that you can still have the same life style as before but still lose weight. Maybe someday we can educate them. Hang in there.

Well, unfortunately for me I have experienced major band slippage since the last post. With my last fill apparently there was a major misread in the fluoro and my stomach had actually herniated through the band, then my surgeon put the 2 cc fill in causing major obstruction. Needless to say I have had a terrible past few days. Him and I had some heated discussion for two days and are ready to go back at it tomorrow. Appears he had tried to blame me at first for overeating. I told him I didn't think so. He screwed up. Finally got him to admit to it. So now my band is empty, starting from square one, won't be able to start to fill again for three months. I made a promist to myself, in the next three months I will lose or at least make a big dent in the twenty five more pounds I want to lose. Shouldn't be hard to start since I am on mushies for the next two to three weeks. Wish me luck guys.:sneaky:

:frown:Hey guys, This really sounds great. I really need some support now. I am a recent victim of band slippage. All of my fluid was removed and will be like that for three months. I am totally on my own right now. As I said before I really need some support. I go back to the hospital in the morning for another upper GI to check the band. How are you setting your miles? Is there any particular goal? Feel free to email me at sparky@suddenlink.net.

Went back to the doc today. He was disappointed in the only one pound loss in three weeks. Needless to say, so am I. I am still keeping caloried in check and exercising. For the most part I eat healthy. He did another fill under fluoro. I am up to 11cc now. I have been sick since drinking all of the contrast and upchucked it. I waited a couple of hours and tried some cream of chidken soup, unfortunately that came back up. I only hope it is just the fill today. We will see tomorrow. I sure hope it is not an obstrction. Been there done that. To top it all off, my treadmill died. Ain't that a killer!!!! Aggravated and disappointed but I guess that too will pass.

I had my banding in May 08. I started out at 270 lbs. I am now down to 175 but seem to be stuck. I have 7cc in my band I think. Last time went to the doc he would not do a fill because I had lost five lbs since last visit. I am stuck at where I am at right now. I exercise an hour a day six days a week, eat healthy but appear to be stuck. Sometimes I think I can hold more than I should. I really need some advise on this if anyone is having the same problem. It is so discouraging.:cursing:

Southeast Ky, Hazard?? Bell and Harlan Counties??
sparkles62 replied to skeeterbait8's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Yeah, I got a little nervous. Things like, am I really ready for this? Will I be able to do it? I kept thinking, I am really tired of going to the fat section in the clothing store. Tired of not being able to bend over and paint my toenails without passing out from lack of oxygen. I don't regret a minute of it. You are doing a good thing for yourself. You will be fine, I am real excited for you. Please keep in touch and let me know how it goes. I think I also need a fill, my doc wouldn't put any in because I had lost a few pounds. Think maybe I will give him some crocodile tears the next time...lol -

Need Lap Band Buddy / Mentor Banded 4/08 down 50 pounds

Hi there, I am also a nurse. I was banded on 5/08. To date i have lost 95 pounds. I would like to lose 25 more. It seems as though I am stuck at my current weight. I exercise one hour per day six days a week. No matter what I try, I can't seem to lose another pound. I tried eating protein bars instead of two meals per day, eating one regular meal. Still nothing. I don't know what else to to. I have been reading about a 5 day pouch test. Thought about it. I need a buddy whose been there. -
I can eat chinese but not rice. Just a few bites and I feel like I am going to explode. What is chinese food without the though... Breaded foods seem to give me a problem too. Especially popcorn shrimp. I have learned to stay away.

Help, I AM AT 7CC AND STILL CAN EAT ANYTHING???/
sparkles62 replied to misslonglegs's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am with you girl! I too have 7cc in mine. At first I was thrilled, I thought this is it but after a few days the feeling went away. I still think I can eat more than I should. I try very hard not to. It is disgusting as heck sometimes. My last visit, my doc would not do a fill because I had lost five pounds but since my visit I have not lost anymore. I would love to think my scales are lying to me...lol.
