How do you manage to get that much protein a day without adding mega calories? Please email me at sparkys@ymail.com -
Don't think it will make the band slip. I run and it hasn't hurt mine.
-
Well, unfortunately for me I have experienced major band slippage since the last post. With my last fill apparently there was a major misread in the fluoro and my stomach had actually herniated through the band, then my surgeon put the 2 cc fill in causing major obstruction. Needless to say I have had a terrible past few days. Him and I had some heated discussion for two days and are ready to go back at it tomorrow. Appears he had tried to blame me at first for overeating. I told him I didn't think so. He screwed up. Finally got him to admit to it. So now my band is empty, starting from square one, won't be able to start to fill again for three months. I made a promist to myself, in the next three months I will lose or at least make a big dent in the twenty five more pounds I want to lose. Shouldn't be hard to start since I am on mushies for the next two to three weeks. Wish me luck guys.:cursing:

I can paint my toenails without passing out. I wear a smaller size now than when I got married 20yrs. ago. (size 8) Sex with my husband is even more spectacular ever day. Crossing my legs without holding them in place. -
My bad. 90.4 miles for month. I forgot, August has 31 days...duh.
-
I am happy to report that I finished this month with 85.4 miles ran. Woot!Woot! It feels soooo good:-). Sounds like everyone else done just as good. I also increased my protein for the past week to see if I could boost my loss but however for some reason, today all I could think of was something to eat. I HATE days like this. Tomorrow will be better....Congratulation to everyone who took the challege this month. Thumbs up!!

What is he c25K program and where do you ge it? -
Tried to post but didn't work for some reason. I would love to join this group. I am an RN working in a cardiac cath lab. Was banded in May 08. Started at 270lbs down to 166lbs. One of the best things I ever did for myself.

Willowcat, where can I find the Slow Users Unite board? I would like to read more about the protein.

19 miles ran this week. Moved my daughter to college and my son to another college so run time was cut down. Total for the month is 55 miles. :-)) Five more to goal for the month. Will surpass goal!!!!
-
Hi guys! 21 miles ran this week. Feels great to look back and see what you have done. This time one year ago I couldn't have walked 21 miles much less ran. Everyone keep up the good work.

My daughter was the wii fit. It is great cardio and is fun. The more you use it the more it opens up. There is also yoga on it.

The abcircle pro works your core, your arms, and you can do two exercises for your inner and outer thighs. I have lost another inch from my waist since I started using it. The cost is $200 but you can do the easy pay if you want. Yes, a clumsy person can do it, I know, I am about as graceful as a bull in a china shop:lol:.

I like my abcircle pro. It works your core very well. I also agree with the others, running is very good.

I am really unsure what happened to cause my band to slip. I don't think the band actually slips itself but your lower portion below the band actually slips up past the band causing the problem. Anyway, last month I had a round with the GI virus with the vomitting and whole nine yards. After that sometime I began noticing that when I ate my food felt like it was up in my chest and would take forever to digest. I "ignorant like" thought that maybe I was finally feeling some good restriction. Then one week I had heartburn continously. Called the doctor's office and scheduled a visit. The doc done a barium swallow, radiologist said it was okay, done a 2cc fill (my band is 14cc). That day and the next all I did was vomit. Ended up in the hospital with vomitting and dehydration. Did another swallow the next day and was found to be obstructed. Removed all of the fluid from the band, stayed on full liquids for two weeks. Feel fine right now but for the next three months I will have no restriction. Doc said today that at the end of three months we would start with a rapid fill and would not be as slow. I will need encouragement the next three months. I am determined not to put any weight back on so wish me luck!!!

Being one week post-op and probably still on full liquids it probably has not. Maybe just getting settled to it. If it returns I would call the doctor but I think you are okay.

Hey guys, the same thing happened to me. Only when all was said and done, my stomach had herniated through my band. You really need to get a barium swallow. This can cause stomach erosion which can lead to a perforation then sepsis. Usually an unfill, full liquids for two weeks and then start refilling in three months is the treatment. I am just now starting back on solid foods. Really, go get it checked.

Hi everyone! Week one.....15 miles. Try for more next week. 45 more to go. Good luck all....rock on!

I have finally broke 100lbs. today. Didn't ever think I would ever see that. Still on full liquids due to the slippage but it has jump started my weight loss. Bad way to do it though. I am so excited about the new weight. :frown: I believe I love my scales again...lol. Would love to go celebrate but not many places have a menu for full liquids. I will just celebrate with you guys.
-
Headhunter, may I ask why you had to have the RNY procedure. I too, am having some problems with my band. Just wondering if your problems were similiar. If you don't mind answering, you can email me at sparkys@ymail.com thx
