  1. I just had my 3rd fill also last Tue 9/1. At 7.4 cc now. This fill has been the first restriction I have had since surgery on 6/19. Just wondering, I have never been "stuck" but i can feel every peice of food I swallow go down my throat and it usually is an uncomfortable feeling (maybe this IS stuck). Not severe pain but painful enough where it makes my meal times uncomfortable. I have tightness in the morning and have definatley cut my intake in half from the week before until now. I have never thrown up or had any PB'ing. Im happy now because I have only lost 7 lbs since June and now I feel like I can finally get the ball rolling but is this what restriction feels like? Painful swallowing where I dont want to eat much?
  2. I was banded on 6/19 and still have only lost 8 lbs since surgery day. I swear sometimes I forget I even had surgery because I can still eat alot (of course not nearly as much as pre-surgery). But on Tue I had my 3rd fill. Now I am at 7.4cc's. I can barley eat anything. I finally feel back on track. Only 1 scrambled egg for breakfast, 4oz of a protien shake for a snack, half of a smart ones frozen dinner and some re fried beans for lunch! I couldnt eat more if I wanted to. I have not ate that little since my 3rd week post op! I asked the P.A. who does my fills what the average amount of cc's is to start feeling restriction, she said about 7 or 8. She was definatly on target. You WILL get there. It might take time but once you are up to 7 or 8 Im positive you will feel a big difference. The tightning in you throught, a little bit of pain when the food goes down makes you want to chew your food until its mush. Good Luck and remember... we chose banding for a reason... Its not an overnight fix like gastric bypass but you have more control and it will take longer... and you can still it anything and not get dumping syndrome:eek:.
  3. I would hope this is semi normal. I had my first fill on 7/20 and still feel like I can eat like a normal person. Not like I could before but not like someone who has been banded. I feel full longer but when I do get hungry I want to EAT. For dinner I could fit a 5oz chicken on a bun and 2 perogies (granted I should not have ate that) but I was hungry and that is amount is what satified my appitite. My next fill is the 2nd week of Aug. I already have 5 cc. 4 in at surgery and 1 more for my first fill in 10cc band. I hear and read alot about how it takes 2-3 fills to get to that spot so I am hopeful I will get there as Im sure you will too. Drink ALOT of water.

    Starving and angry!!

I can definitaley understand the hungry, angry feeling. I was banded on June 19th and went though about 10 days of hell. I was hungry after the 3rd day and was dreaming about food. I thought I made the biggest mistake of my life and wanted to rip it out of my stomach just so I could eat. I wanted pizza and brownies and food that I never cared to eat before. A little over a month out I feel 100% better and think of that time as rehabilitation. Once you have the hill climbed you only have and eaisier walk down hill. I promise you will overcome this and read back this post in a month or 2 and see how far you have come...
  5. I was VERY suprised when at my first fill the PA pulled out 4cc's and put 1 more in for a ttl of 5 only one month after surgery (6/19/09). Still no restriction, only supressed appitite for longer. I still eat, just less then before. I have my next fill in 3 weeks. Wish I had less cc's in my 10 cc band and more restriction.
  6. Wow, Its seems like I am reading my own story. I was banded on 6/19 and have lost a ttl of 7 lbs and that was the first week. Since then I have gained 2 lbs and then lost 2 again. I am at the gym 4 days a week and eat "normal" portions of food. Not restricted portions like I had hoped. I had my first fill 4 days ago and was suprised to find I had 4 cc in my 10 cc band then another 1 cc at my fill , the only change I see is that I am fuller longer, not that I can eat smaller portions. I have never felt restriction or the stuck feeling. Im already half way through my band! My friends and family keep asking me how much weight I have lost and I when I tell them 7lbs in since surgery, I feel like a failure. I just keep focused on the future and hope I will get to that "sweet spot" sometime soon.
