Bev, I remember when I went to Alton Towers once, it was a few years ago but I had a near miss....... I was sat on 'Oblivion' and the belt would only click into its slot once (but it needed to be a double click). I sat there and the light stayed red on my seat and the attendant had to come over to see what the problem was.......luckily he gave it a big push and it double clicked !!!!! How lucky was I......it was embarressing though. I will defo not be going again until Im at least 3 stone lighter !! xxx

Last night my Mum called and asked me if my brother could also come to Brusells with us, as she thought it would be company for us both, especially while I'm in hospital. I managed to email Fred to ask him for a 3 bed room at the hotel (dont know if there is such a thin), maybe a family room but I haven't heard back from him yet. Well, I posted off my deposit to Brussells today, so roll on 11th September....I cant wait. Only thing left to do now is book the flights, which I will do once I know if my brother is coming :thumbup: I also make friends with Jackie who lives in Bristol and is having her op today. Hopefully we can meet for a coffee over the next few months as she only lives in Bedminster. :sneaky:

Just checked my emails and Hooray, Fred can do my Op on 11th Sept....great news. I haven't been on for days, as I was dragged camping with 3 of my buddies (Heidi, Nicky and Vicky). It was A BIT wet but great fun to catch up again. I stopped off to spend the night at Mums in Bristol on Sunday, after Adi's christening (Teddy). My brother was at my Mums, which was good as I had to break the news to him that I was moving my Op date forward and wanted Mum to come instead of him. He was Ok about it..... Previously, my sister had told me that Mum was worried about me having the Op and wanted to be in Brussels with me. Her holiday was stopping her coming before but I've managed to get some time off and she is coming. I dont know what work will say if they ever find out. I've booked the same 2 days off as my Deputy, which shouldnt really happen but who cares !!!:sneaky: I dont want to wait any longer.......6 weeks is killing me. Good nite

Jackie, just noticed you are a Bristol Lass, I'm from Bristol and although I live in Wiltshire, I'm there most weekends...... Good luck with your Op, thinking of you. Another late night, 10.45pm and thought I would make an effort to update my blog. Had my hair done tonite, which has made me feel good. The other girl that was there said she may know a tiler, so I may in luck finishing my kitchen.....who knows! Well, today I told my secretary Im having the band fitted. I have sworn her to secrecy as I dont want it going around work. She seems pleased for me but says she wouldnt have the courage to do it her self. I checked out if there was any chance I could take holiday from 10th - 15th Sept. and to my surprise I am able to get it off. The only problem is that I havent told my boss that my deputy is already off that week.....but who cares, they will have to cope for a change, its only 2 days !! You may be wondering why I was looking for this date off ? Well, my sister tells me that my Mum is still not happy for me to have the op, especially now she cant be with me as she is on holiday from 20th Sept - 4th Oct and Ive booked my op for 2nd Oct. Well to cut a long story short I thought if I could get these earlier dates off, she could come with me ! I dont think my brother is going to be pisssed when I dump him but I think it would make Mum happy if she could come. Also, it brings my op closer :sneaky: I have emailed Fred tonite to ask him if the date is free, so providing it is I will change the date and tell me Mum next week. I have received in the mail today my starter pack for my after care from WLS, so I'm going for a read before I go to bed. Good nite. xx

Can you tell me....I am having my Op on a Friday, when would you say I was ready to go back to work ? I was hoping to go back on the Monday or Tuesday, is that too soon ? Will I be well enough ? I mainly sit at a desk and do a bit of walking about. S x

I feel responsible for starting this bowel thread but I guess you have your own issues like me (and Im not banded yet !!!!!!!) Sorry................good to hear all your good advice though. On that subject I book my 6 month of fills with colleen today to make the most of the special offer......thanks to everyone for that tip ! S.

Thanks Beeboo. Never tried 'Califigs' before, but will get some and try it out before my bands fitted. Tried the choc lax before but found it very mild and not very effective ? Do any of you try juicers or blending veggies etc to get some fibre inside of you, or is orange juice just as good ? I've just started drinking OJ to help my Constipation but have always stayed away from it in the past because I considered it as 'empty' calories ! Roll on October 2nd Cheers, Sx

For anyone trying to get hold of Fred, I know he's in the South of France on holiday at the moment. I sent him an email to get confirmation that my flight times were ok and the sweetie phoned me from the SOF. He sounded lovely and I'm looking forward to Brussels...I'm ready for my band now !! I left a message with WLS also today and I am waiting for them to get back to me tomorrow, to buy 6months of fills up front. I know I wont need my first until November but I took all your advice with the special July offer and hope to purchase this tomorrow. Thanks Guys Sue x

Some of you may want to stop reading now..............but I already have bowel problems, where I only go every 2-3 days (and its not comfortable i can tell you !) I know its because I dont drink enough fluids, (which I am tryin to change) but it is worrying me that the band is causing some of you constipation ?? Is there any hope for me ?? I was once on the Cambridge diet, OMG ! that was awful. Any advice to keep the bowels going once I've had the band fitted or maybe for right now to get it going again ??? Sue x

Big Sis....I am really tryin with the fluids but I've put a bottle of water on my desk and its still half full by the end of the day. Its been there now for 5 days and I've not been tempted to re-fill it !!! I've got my staff to give me a kick every hour to make me drink, hope I can change my behaviour before my band ? Carrie Sounds to me, that you got all the problems tucked up & put to bed!!! You are so lucky to be able to do your own fills. I am concerned about not being able to get enough fluids as Im not the best drinker now, I already dont drink enough and like you, get headaches often. Its not because I cant be bothered, Im just not thirsty and usually dont think about getting a drink, Im too busy at work to find time. It doesnt help when your secretary doesn't drink tea or coffee either !!! I would also love it if I didnt get obsessed about food but its on my mind constantly at the moment. I hope the band helps me to get over this as I want to be 'normal'. Keep up the good work. :cool2:

Gillian Thanks for the warm welcome.........I'm not being banded until 2nd October, so I have a little wait. I'm sure that staying in touch with everyone in this forum will keep me going until then ? Your weight loss is fantastic. I remember 4 years ago losing 5.5 stone in one year on Orsilat (Zenical) and the feeling of moving down the scales was awsome. I dont remember putting it on though, as I went through a relationship breakup. The one thing that has made my mind up about having this op, is not just to lose the weight (obviously)but to keep it off and help me keep to a diet plan in the long term as I don't want to put it back on !! Keep up the good work. S.x
