Hey all NY'ers!!! How's evreyone doing? Great I'm sure. Well I've been back to work for a week now and doing pretty good, I've been on solids for a week and a day so and I'm loving it ,measuring everything still and chewing ALOT:hungry: . My Dr is pretty strict with the post op diet but so far have done fairly well I haven't eaten anything i wasnt supposed to but have had an extra bite or two of chicken ( I'm only allowed 3oz for each meal) I also stopped after work and joined the local gym and I'm starting tomorrow after work.:clap2: I'm actually sooo excited I just hope I stay this motivated. Well hope everyone is doing good. Keep in touch !!! Ok well I'm off to bed, :notagree I'm also working on not staying up ALL night. I'm such a night owl LOL but gotta get up early have a long day tomorrow

I have been feeling very hungry too!! I'm afraid of gaining any weight back but I know my Dr won't do a fill until I go 4 weeks without any weight loss. I can tell I have some restriction but I'm only supposed to eat 3oz of meat and 3oz of veggies but that doesnt fill me up and I 've gone back for a few more bites of chicken. I also have been having snacks in between, I mean they are the snacks I'm allowed to have such as cottage cheese or yogurt, but still wish I didn't feel the need to snack in between meals. I am definitely eating a lot less than before surgery but not the amount that my doc wants me to eat.

Faybie I agree I read some of that too and didnt understand why their are people on here fighting first we are all on here for support so why talk to someone if they arent supportive well at least we all get along LOL

Hey I have a question before my surgery I've tried "diet" stuff like the no sugar added, things with artificial sweetener, my Dad is diabetic and they've always had sugar free everything in the house since i was a kid and I've tried to like it the diet drinks, sugar free desserts, etc. I always couldnt bear the taste. After my surgery I was allowed to have sugar free ice pops and diet snapple so I figured I'd give it a shot and they tasted so sweet to me and I wasnt ready for the sweetness so I didnt have much. Well now I'm on to solid foods well somewhat solid and went and got some yogurt with artificial sweeteners because they are the only ones with low enough calories....and I LOVE IT!!! I've now tried different things "diet" or no sugar added and I can't even tell they are sweetened with aspartame I feel like my taste buds have totally changed. I mean it's a good thing but has that happened to anyone else. I was worried before my surgery I wouldnt be able to enjoy my new diet but I really like the taste and it's much better for me. :clap2:

Well I am only 3 1/2 weeks post op and I started to eat solids on tuesday so this is my 4th day and today i was feeling pretty hungry even after eating but before i start to eat i measure my food and if its an actual meal instead of just 3 oz cottage cheese or a piece of fruit i put my food on a small plate i bought myself before my surgery and it makes it look like i have alot of food in front of me when really i only have 3 oz of chicken or fish and 3 oz of vegetables and when i'm done i'm done no matter if i'm hungry or not i need to get used to enough is enough and not over do it. i think we will all get used to it. Good Luck Magic

Congrats to everyone :clap2: I try to keep up with all the posts but have been having a rough time. Well I'm down 18lbs since surgery 8-9-06 and now on solid foods. Very small amounts of good quality foods. I actually love it, i have been eating fish, chicken and lots of veggies, so far my fav is grilled mushroom and onions YUM :hungry: Well I'm gonna try and set a goal for October 1st for 15lbs it might be alot but I think it will help push me.

I'm surprised your eating already. I didnt have any hunger until about 2 weeks I was on all liquids for 3 weeks I cheated twice and had some cream of chicken soup minus the chicken LOL and even at 3 weeks i was so scared to wat regular food that yesterday i must have looked at my food for at least an hour before i even tried it I've heard too many horror stories about things getting stuck I am doing fine with not drinking while I eat Ive eaten pretty moist food so far. I havent had any trouble so far with getting food down because I chew it very good before I swallow it. I am having a hard time drinking enough water I almost got it all in today but was missing about 8oz so tomorrow I will try harder to drink more water
-
Thanks. I went back today and worked all day and even made it their on time @ 8am LOL I have always been a night owl but I've gotten pretty bad lately I had 2 protein drinks today at work but then ate real food for dinner had a small piece of Chicken tenderloin on my mini George Foreman and some grilled mushrooms and onions I almost ate the whole 3oz of meat and 3oz of vegetables much better than yesterday. I'm getting their I'm still a little nervous and I eat very slow took about an hour LOL just wanna make sure I chew enough I may even being chewing a bit too much.

Hey Tabby Welcome and Thanks for stopping by here to say Hi So since you've been banded how have you been doing? I just went to Dr today for my 2nd post op and was put on FOOd after 2 1/2 weeks of liquids I had a little fish and some green beans and it tasted great but took so long to eat that I only ate half a portion but I also was full. I ate very slow but was also very nervous I am going back to work tomorrow and I'm excited to go but having a hard time getting back into the sleeping schedule I've been quite a night owl since the surgery I stay up all night. Well good luck again to everyone. Keep in touch with all us NY'ers

I also lost quickly at first, 5 days post op i was down 10.5lbs i just went for my next appt 2 since my 5 day post op and I only lost 7lbs but they said that is really good so i'm now down 33.5lbs total. I have been on a total liquid diet and now I am allowed to eat soft foods and so I just got home and cooked some fish and green beans but I'm just looking at it. I'm scared to actually eat it's been 3 weeks with NO food at all and now I'm afraid to eat.

Hello all you August bandsters. Congratulations to everyone you all seem to be doing very well.:clap2: I am so excited tomorrow I go to my Dr for a follow up I havent been since my 5 day post op and at that point I had lost 10.5lbs since surgery day. So I am excited to see how much since then since its been 2 weeks since that visit. I also think I can have some kind of food tomorrow up until now Im on water and protein drinks only, I have snuck in a little broth too:) But am definitely excited to possibly have something solid :hungry: even if it is only yogurt or mashed potatoes. Well again to everyone Good Luck and keep up the good work.

Hello everyone I just wanted to see how the rest of Dr. Kwon and Dr Vinces' patients were doing I am banded as of August 9th I'm still on the liquid phase I go back to Dr on monday and hopefully go to the mushy stage. I have a few questions as far as the diet goes after, I've seen a lot of threads on here with different foods people are eating but notice alot of the things Dr Kwon is dead set against such as bread and rice and steak. Any suggestions that are ok with the Dr I know he's a a little more strict than others and would like to know what I should be getting this weekend at the grocery store for my next phase ( which in reading is the mushy phase but he had told me it was 2 protein shakes and 1 small meal I think he meant a mushy meal LOL) Thanks if anyone can help and Goodluck to everyone

YEAH!!! I've heard so many horror stories about flabby skin and I must say this has me pretty nervous I'm 26 and have alot to lose but I don't want to have the PS. I would much rather work it off. I think it would be much easier. How long has it been since you've been banded and how have you done??
-
Congrats to all of you I was just banded on August 9th and I'm waiting to be able to excercise I have started walking every night and got some small weights to lift to work on my arms. I don't want to have to have PS so I'm hoping the excercising helps with the flabby skin after the weight starts coming off. I know I can't do any stomach excercises now but once my DR says its ok I hope to really kick in with the excercise. Has their been a good outcome when adding so much excercise, does it help with the flabby skin??

I'm from upstate NY about an hour and a half from NYC. Thats one of my favorite places to go I plan on going every once in awhile its great excercise to walk around without feeling like I'm excercising.
