  3. 2 years has passed since you registered at LapBandTalk! Happy 2nd Anniversary AmyNsaint!

  4. How r you? I am still waiting on the appeal that my Dr. office sent to my insurance company. How is the weight loss going?

  5. Ok, I have read about getting food stuck, but I guess i thought when it gets stuck, the only way to get it out was to bring it back up. So I probably didn't chew as well as I thought---won't do that again!!! Thanks alot for the help!!
  6. wow everyone sounds like they had a painless fill! Am I the only one that was in pain??? For my first fill on 9/1, the needle didn't really hurt, but after finding the port, he had a hard time inserting the needle into the port. He said that it is hard to insert it at a month out because there wasn't enough time for scar tissue to form and hold the port in place yet. It was pretty painful and I even had a bruise afterward.
  7. I have been banded since July 28th. I got my first fill on Sept. 2nd. Well, I still do not have much restriction, but watching closely what I eat. Okay, so today I was eating 1/2 of a chicken breast. I thought I was chewwing good and eating slowly-since I have been practicing this since before the surgery. But what happened was I felt a bad pain and could feel the chicken going through the band into my stomach. I felt like I couldn't even breathe and finally took a couple sips of water, thinking that it might have been dry, but it didn't really help. Has anybody else felt this???
  8. How are you? Back to school?

    severe bruising...

I was banded the same day as you and I have a lot of bruising too. They are around the incisions, but I have a mystery bruise too! It is on the lower part of my stomach a little bit under my belly button. It is funny, but I wondered the same thing - if something wierd happened during surgery that gave it to me haha! They are already starting to yellow, though. I think it is just how our body responds to the trauma of the laprasopic tools.
  10. Thank you everyone sooo much for the support and encouragement!! Today the pain was so much more bearable, I have even cut back on the meds:smile2:. I have been walking several times today, just 10 minutes at a time, but I think that is helping with the gas, and making me feel back to normal! I am excited for this new journey and so glad that there are so many people ready to encourage and share their experiences!
  11. I was banded yesterday (7/28) and I am in so much pain. I am trying to control it with the tylenol w/ codeine the doctor gave me, but it only gives me about an hour & a half of relief. I just wanted to know form others how long the pain lasts!! Also, I forgot to ask the doctor if I can chew gum... does anyone know if its ok? Thanks!!
