Potential young sleever -- help deciding what to do? I need advice...
mrsreyes replied to annagene12's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi, Im kinda in the same place. I am 24 years old, and have been overweight/obese ALL of my life. I am scared and nervous too, but I think that it is time for me to get my life back. I am a mommy of 3 and I am tired all the time and I have no energy... that is so hard when you have little ones. like I said, I have always been big, but I have gained about 100 lbs in the last 8 years. I am currently pre op and losing weight on my own. I think that I may be able to lose the weight alone... without the surgery... MAYBE, but I have no doubt that I will most likely gain it back without the sleeve to help me. As far as I have read so far this surgery doesn't mean that you can never have treats again... they will just be in much smaller amounts, and of coarse not until much later in your journey. This surgery isn't a death sentence... if anything I is going to allow you to live the life that you should have been living all this time. I am here to talk if you want, we are pretty close in age and it sounds like we have some of the same thoughts and concerns. -

Congrats! -
My seminar isn't until may 15th, but I have already lost 15 lbs. I haven't been to the doctor specifically regarding wls, but they do have my weight in my chart from about a month ago. I have already lost 15 lbs and still going. If I am required to lose weight before surgery, will they use my charted high weight or my current weight at the time of the pre op appointment?

Tummy Tuck Pics **WARNING!** SEMI NUDE ** GRAPHIC ** 5 days post op
mrsreyes replied to smbergie200's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
wow! first off congrats on the amazing loss!! I know I'm going to need a tummy tuck when this weight is off, and I am so scared of the pain. -
I am not 100% sure, but I am pretty sure lol that if your primary denies you, or it isn't a covered procedure under that plan that your secondary will still cover it. you just may have some co pays since there will be no other insurance to pick up whatever the other does not cover. I hope that I made sense.

lol I thought the same thing about the cream of chicken pudding . I'm sure everything will be fine.

wow!!! You are amazing! I am pre op, but I only dream of being that successful!

What led you to your decision to have surgery so young?
mrsreyes replied to lilricanliz's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I have been overweight/obese my whole life and I am ready for a change. I have three kids now and they are very young. I am tired all the time and I have no energy. I want to be able to run and play with my kids without tiring so easily. I was very overweight when I met my husband, but nowhere near what I am now. I think I have gained about 100 lbs in the 8 years that we have been together! That is disgusting to me! Yes, I have been pregnant 3 times in those 8 years, but there is no excuse. I feel gross and have no self confidence. I have PCOS and my dad has diabetes... I don't want to end up with diabetes, but I know I will end up that way if I don't get a lot of weight off... especially being predisposed because of the PCOS. This is my way out... not the easy way out I will have to work hard... I know that, but I kinda feel like this is my last chance at life. I want to feel 24 and not 54!
