Well, growing up as the skinny girl with bird legs, I never thought I would find myself where I am today. But I come from a long line of "apples" and have a laundry list of medical issues -- sleep apnea, asthma, high tryglicerides, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, metabolic syndrome, and at the age of 49 fell off a bar stool and got cancer -- Waldenstrom's Macroglobulinemia -- a rare blood cancer. Following chemo, I walked a Marathon in Anchorage, Alaska -- hey, 26 miles is 26 miles whether you are walking or running. The doctors say I am the healthiest sick person they know -- because I just keep going and going. Nothing stops me -- until my beautiful 6 year old granddaughter looked at me and said, Neenah, you are big and fat, and when you die, I will still love you forever. Let the journey begin....
