I am 48 years and have been struggling like most of you for years.  I have always put my family first and myself last.  I have had   several medical problems in the past and in the present including high blood pressure, a-fiblerlation, just to name a few.  Last year on April 30, 2008, I had a stroke at work and that was it for me.  I swore if I survived that stroke that it woluld be time for me to make a permanent lifestyle change.  God showed up and showed out, I came through the stroke with no damage of any kind.  I began to pray and ask God to help me and show me the way, that's when I began research on Gastric  bypass  and Lap band surgery and after having talks wiath my family we all decided that I would have the Lap band surgery.  It has been a long six months even though I know I needed the time to make sure that I was comitted to the new lifestyle changes that I had to make.  It got rocky sometimes but I did everything that was required of me to do.  I had a wonderful representative from United Healthcare and also Peachtree surgical staff helped me throuh the end.  I am waiting to be scheduled for surgery now.
