I was banded 7/21 My port area was sore for about a week. Now I can't even feel where it is. I had my first post op appt last week but forgot to ask exactly where my port is. Nuts.It's got to be in there somewhere.

Hey Moondust.......you have been very strong and committed to eat like a bird with hardly any restriction. That shows the determination you have...I really hope that this last fill will be just what you need. If not, I know you will be able to talk with your doctor to see exactly what is going on. Hi All 7/21 bandsters. You all sound like you are doing just great. One week ago today. Incredible. The protein shakes are starting to make me gag, so I bought some Isopure water 40 grams protein. Not the greatest, but it's all worth it... Got on the scale this morning, I"m down 22 pounds. (Not from the 21st, I count from the 2 weeks low fat diet I had pre-surgery. I worked hard for those pounds)16 pounds pre surgery, 6 pounds post. This morning I treated myself to a haircut, highlights, and new style. Felt so gooood.... PS.... I screwed up my ticker---somehow I just cant change the weight. So I cant update it. I'm computer intolerant. Talk later. I'm so glad everyone is doing well.

I'm home,,, yea. Had my surger Tuesday and had to have overnight stay. All went well, I am so happy about that. No complications at all. I was dreading the awful gas that I've read about so much. Fortunately, I haven't had any. I've exerpienced the stomach growlings and tumbling. I've had no nausea. I had my first protein shake at lunch, and it all went down well. My surgeon put in 3ccs. I was surprised, I didn't expect any filling while first placed. So I'm anxious in the next few days to see what happens. I can'[t wait to watch the scale go down. Only disappointment I've had, was weighing when I got home. The scale went up about 8 pounds. Now that has to be due to swelling, and the IV"s because I"ve sure not had anything to eat. I just have to be patient, which is a challenge for me. I'm a scale aholic...I've got to work on that. Hopfully all the 21st people will tell me about their day.

I was banded just a few days ago, the 21st. I stayed overnight because my insurance required it. I am 60 and I'm doing just great. I'm sure you will also. Just follow the rules, and enjoy knowing that you now have a lifetime tool that will enable you to lose your weight and to be able to maintain that weight loss once and for all. We are going to be able to go shopping for I call normal clothes, more energy, more self confidence, off meds if you are on them. Enjoy your new adventure in life.

Don't worry about the gain. I did the very same. I was banded the 21st and next day came home and immediately weighed........I gained 8 pounds, but today it was back down. It's hard to believe our day has come and gone and we are finally on our journey. Best wishes

I wish all the best. I'm sure you will do fine. I was banded the 21st. This site has helped so much, I'm going thru all what I've read aboue. The port site is very sore. Fortunately I've not experienced the gas that alot of people have had. I hope it doesnt develop . Also my stomach is growling and rumbling which I expected. Good Luck

My surgery was Tues 7/21/09. It went really well. I was so nervous hoping my liver had shrunk. I had lost 16 pounds before surgery, doing a low fat diet. I was real happy with that. I woke up in recovery, not too much pain. It was so helpful in reading about all the people that had been banded and what to expect. I had to have an overnight stay, got home today about 11:30. I ended up having a roommate and it was awful. Half dimentia and alzhimers. I tried to be very compastionate but it finally came to me telling the nurses to either put her out and me. I got the pill. I'm home and doing well. I've had to take some naps. My surgeon said she put in 3ccs. I've had my first protein shake and it went down really well. I don't have any hunger pains. Hope I have restriction. I've got 4 incisions. Hope all the Tuesday surgeries are doing well.

It's not what you think. I am confessing to being dangerous around a computer, so inadequate. I am being banded tomorrow----yea yea..... In the last weeks I have found this site invaluable, such wonderful people sharing their journeys. Well I started out as freedom09. Everyone has a ticker and I also wanted to be "July09 Freedom Fighters". I read and read, and found wonderful instructions on how to do it, well if you look at some of my postings, I ended up with 2 tickers and my Freedom banner. I tried and tried to erase, delete, etc. To my embarrasment, I just rejoined lapbandtalk. and now I'm 09Freedom. I finally saw the light, and stumbled thru and got it right. So this is a new beginning--- I'm 60 and I'm just thrilled about making my life better. I have a loving husband and family who are very supportive. Now I have all of you to help me, hoping I can add to your journey also. GO " Jully 09 FREEDOM FIGHTERS"

Hi...... I'm being banded on Tues the 21st also!! My Doctor doesn't have us do all liquid. I've been on a lowfat diet for 2 weeks. Eating about 800-1000 calories a day.... Tomorrow I'm on clear liquids... I'm so excited, good luck to you...
