I have known about the by-pass surgery for years. About two years ago, I was orientating a new nurse with the home care agency I worked for. After having lunch one afternoon I noticed that she was, for lack of a better term, gagging. I asked her if she was feeling sick. She said she was not and then she explained why. I was intrigued to say the least. I drilled her, lol. She allowed me to feel where her port was placed. She said she had lost about 87 lbs and had been banded a little less than a year. I was so excited about the prospect. I attended the seminar and became even more excited. But disappointment soon followed when I found out my health insurance would not cover the the surgery. Now, two years later, I have a job with health care benifits which will cover the proceedure and now I am well on my way. My surgeon requires that I have an EKG done and that will be at my primany care physicians office on Monday. I am so excited. After Monday I will be anxiously waiting a call from the surgeon for setting a date.
