    My first Post

Hi, :bored: Welcome to LBT. It's a great place to talk to others about the banded life.
  2. I think most of the time when they say slider foods such as shakes they are talking about milkshakes (icecream). Some bandsters, like me, have a very hard time with meat. I can not eat eggs either. The Protein shakes help me keep at least some protein in my diet and I have heard it helps prevent hairloss and muscle loss. For me, it's either Protein Shakes or being bald with that wasteing away look.

    Some perspective

But ..... how tall was she? 5'8" or 5'9" maybe .... celebheights.com says The legendary Actress was taller than some maybe expected at just over 5ft 5. Her official site gives her this height and 140lbs and I agree. I think her curvy figure maybe gave an illusion of her being shorter than she was. snopes says false .... bummer it says she was size 8 Link: http://search.mywebsearch.com/mywebsearch/redirect.jhtml?qid=639a55823c59c6e6b2d0676026dbd008&searchfor=how+tall+was+marylin+monroe&action=pick&pn=1&si=&ptnrS=ZRman000&ss=&st=kwd&cb=ZR&pg=AJmain&ord=5&tpr=&redirect=mPWsrdz9heamc8iHEhldEfGAFAmLxVkOrcp3pRJVZ5AcOywcHPeKoclSXBow6Gm6wbTcoL72IfsT6kzUiuX8Zp4Z0CEx5pyjDLrPDlbZoI8JGlDVj%2BQO8%2Fdp63hmRzeg18FFgneWdgHhdQihk4fj2Z4XnKVLEuAbE%2Fe1t4AHlrGvoTQOxtnyXceUiqlDsn5ql0R9wPKd9EJRnDY5WapKb4czRwLrlTdAsGXF9vM42iZYyEGmQnU1DAVx10TrIPhNI7V23H268FSfzOwXFlhwWtk3LtadllV70RCq3BjuM3VH%2FSkPOBPtwT3GMTTrIAl8%2BXviY19JqPQjI6vPtQJ3zfH7zj6oOBJs3jqx%2FsJtitz6ncqyb5cVGygdz9r1%2F2zGKn7sbexvrP91tnNWPyxja2tNOgr9eo%2BD78cSKFd3B7i5dBr6RnKEyahsNn%2BFF4fBOaGlxdcNYl%2F%2BWxZtR7527A%3D%3D&ct=
  4. I agree. You should insist the Dr. see you ASAP. If nothing is wrong, then you will at least know and ease your mind, but everything you just described sounds like something is wrong. Maybe there is a simple fix, but you won't know if you don't go get it looked at.

Oh lap-band, how I love thee!

Wow! great job! Those comments from friends really help. Your head will catch up one day. Keep up the good work!

    Tanning bed

Yea, Spartan can be uncool sometimes. He has already been kicked off LBT before when his name was Headhunter. Just ignore him when he is being a jerk. Sometimes you just have to do that and wade through the BS when people have bad manners.

    Tanning bed

The spray tan or "mistic" tan sounds like a great idea. I used to be the queen of tanning in the sun and tanning beds. Now my skin shows it. I stopped about 4 years ago.

    Hair loss

oh geez, that sounds pretty bad. I'm sorry, but I have tried everything and I have no new ideas to give. Mine did start growing back in, but I am still having hair issues myself.
  9. elcee is 100% correct ...... the dreaded foamy slime! This has happened to me when I eat too much, don't chew well, or eat foods I can no longer tolerate after being banded and have restriction.

    Self Pay "extras"

Are you asking me? If so, I have no insurance. I was self pay. Cashola .... $9950 covered first consult with surgeon, pre-op visit with surgeon, surgery, anesthesia, hospital (out-patient/ just there a few hours), consult with NUT, fills for 3 months. (fills after that were $15, but now they went up to $25) Surgery in Denver area

When will my head catch up

Oh my gosh, I didn't think about it until I read this. I weigh less than my driver's license says. (and I lied about my weight on that .... really weighed more)
  12. Sometimes when you stop trying you end up with a little surprise package :smile2: If your friends do end up having kids there are ways you can still do some fun things. You just may have to do a little planning. Other people's kids are the best kind to have. You can babysit a little and then send the little buggers home!
  13. I don't know what to think. I guess I am naive enough to not even consider what a "troll" is and that the people here are just like me. I think this thread is a good example why veteran's posts seem to dwindle.

what do you want to do once you lose weight

Hmmm...... I'm not sure what I want. I guess all I want is to feel better about myself and the way I look.
  15. I love the soup there! I have never watched my sodium enough. I've always had very low BP, so never got "trained" to watch it. I guess I should start paying more attention.
  16. Honestly I think you may not even miss the Tom Ka soup. It's only going 7 days without it. Don't get too upset over it. Why don't you see how things go when that time comes?
  17. I like getting the tomato basil soup with the little salad at applebees. (when you can have salad)

When will my head catch up

This is why I have to try on clothes that I think won't fit me yet. If you have a pair of pants that you just couldn't zip before, try the pants on instead of just holding them up. I think it may take quite some time for my head to catch up.
  19. Is it just pure entertainment for her/you? posting so you can stir up trouble and then give yourself support? There must be better fun for you in this world someplace.
  20. Hmmm ..... very interesting. Is he trying to cause trouble? Fighting with himself? Can't edit other's posts ....... Here is the email I got: Dear Humming Bird, SavvyCat has just replied to a thread you have subscribed to entitled - How important are the rules really? - in the POST-Operation Lap-band Surgery Questions & Answers forum of LAP-BAND Surgery and LAP-BAND Discussion Forum. This thread is located at: http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f178/how-important-rules-really-116365-new/ Here is the message that has just been posted: *************** I don't recall any personal attacks from Savvy's original posts. Like he/she said this was her first post ever. If some of you cowards would grow a set with the weight you have lost the world would be alot more honest. I respect you Savvy for your guts you will succeed dont give up. The mean and hatefull posts are people who are misserable human beings there's something for you to chew on LAP NYC. You want to go on with personal attacks we can go pound for pound and I dont think you would stand a chance debateing with the cat. ***************

    Too tight.. but...

Erika, I don't think you are chewing too much. It just sounds like you are not at your sweet spot yet. They include some fat between your stomach and the band too. When that fat shrinks your restriction fades. That might be part of it. I just think you are simply not at your sweet spot yet.
  22. I'm sure you did not damage the band, but after a hard stuck episode like that you should take it very easy for at least tomorrow and maybe even longer. This could have caused some swelling of the stomach. Go very slow with liquids, then soft foods........
  23. Humming Bird

    Too tight.. but...

It will get looser over time. If you are going to stay so tight you really have to use caution like chewing well. If you have trouble with meat you have to suppliment the protein quite a bit.
  24. Christie, great news about ditching the BP meds!!! and bummer about the cherries. I just popped on to share a NSV I forgot too. I can now shop at Vickey's!!!! (that's Victoria's Secret) When I was in Denver the other day I had some time to kill so I walked around a mall. Every other time I have walked in a Victoria's Secret there is nothing that would fit me. Well, this time I walked over to a clearence rack and there hung the most beautiful pair of silk pajamas (mauve & cream stripes) with my name on them! They aren't even the biggest size they have! 50% off and they even have the Vickey's logo ......lol. This is the first thing I have ever worn with the VS on it.
