Today is my one year bandiversary. It has been a good year and I can't complain. I really wanted to hit that 100 pound mark, but had a minor bump in the road getting a cashew or something stuck which required a small unfill. I came very close to that 100 lb mark. I have gone from a very miserable 264 lb, size 24 wearing, morbidly obese woman, to a happier 169 lb, size 12/14 slightly overweight woman! It feels great! I have no secrets. I just do the best I can and don't let this thing control every day of my life. Now I need to get this last 19 lbs off!

That is just too funny! You asked your room mate to rate your moobs  -
I was having trouble eating over memorial day weekend. Starting Friday night. By that Tuesday, I could not even drink.

Yesterday we went to a lake/reservoir that we had not been to before. :frown: It was so beautiful and I caught some of the largest trout you'll ever see. :fish: I was not able to eat much while we were there, but didn't give it much thought. After we got home I cooked the smallest trout (it would feed 3 people). I ate a tiny bit of trout, but is was giving me trouble, so I gave up. I was feeling weak so I tried a tiny bit of icecream lastnight and could not eat it very well. I thought the trout must still be in there. This morning I ate about 1/4 serving of oatmeal and we went for a drive to check out the boat ramps at a couple other lakes because the one yesterday sucked. I was drinking iced tea on the drive. Our drive took us places farther away than intended, but a drive in the mountains on a beautiful day is a good thing. :car: We ended up in a small mountain town that has little shops and stuff. We stopped for lunch and I ordered a cup of buffalo chili. I took a couple tiny bites and was done. The chili was very good, but I just could not eat. That is when I realized the elevation of that town is over 10,000 ft. :Banane49:The pressure at high altitude had my band pretty much closed off. I bet the same thing happened yesterday. I have only had that very tiny bit of oatmeal all day and feel like crap because of it. So, we get back to town (elevation 8,500 ft.) I'm burping chili and I think my band feels better. I stop and get a skinny latte :tea:at starbucks and am having a little trouble with it as well. It feels like it is percolating in there. Bob, this part is for you. about 20 mins. after I ate the couple bites of buffalo chili we started walking around the town looking in shops. We were in a little antique mall and all of a sudden I did not feel well. :cursing: My stomach hurt. I had a couple papaya enzyme pills in my purse, so I chewed them up. About 2 mins. after that my mouth started to produce too much saliva.:scared2: I could feel it coming ....... OMG! I'm gonna hurl! I walked as fast as I could out the front door of the place and spotted a trash can along the sidewalk. There were people (tourists) everywhere! OMG! I was going to puke in public! :scared2:I looked to the right and thank God, there was a little bank that was closed. I headed in to the parking lot and found a place where there were some trees and flowers. I was going to throw up right there in the black eyed susans!:confused:..........OMG! ...... ewwww! the slime was going to come! The puke!:mad2: .................Then it passed ....I was not going to hurl after all -

I was just looking at some photos around the site. What is up with the pouty lip thing? I don't get it. Are they all Bret fans? I guess I'm just showing my age when I don't understand why people think they look better when they do that. -

I don't have any insurance, so I can't offer any help there. That office sounds like they are herding cattle. I would go check out another place for sure. -
I find it strange how many threads/post there are about this on a lapband site.

Surgery scheduled in 9 days on the 20th, don't feel prepared, please help.

Blondi brings up a good point about the tidy room/house. Clean house before surgery. You will not feel up to it for quite some time after surgery. -
You have done so well! Happy dance through life!

I wore some capri type PJs home after surgery. Don't take a bunch of stuff with you. You won't need it and it is just stuff you have to keep track of and carry. Get some clear liquids you like for the first few days post-op. Anything you can see through like jello (drink it). I don't know what your Dr.'s post-op guidelines are, but mine were to only drink ice cold liquids for the first 4-7 days. Then I could move on to creamier stuff like protien shakes, apple sauce, runny cream of wheat. I think the one thing that helped me the most post-op was keeping an ice pack on my stomach even longer than they told me to. It really helped the swelling go down. Don't get yourself too worked up about it. Nerves can make the entire thing worse than it is. Good luck to you and I wish you the best. Celebrate your journey and be happy for yourself. -
I'm not sure what I will do because I'm broke right now. I'll think of something for a reward. :cursing:

speaking of shoes.......... Let us know how long you last in those before you are wearing bare feet. I know I wouldn't last long at all. I used to wear heels quite a bit when I was younger. I would even go out and dance in them all evening. (no, not that kind of dance) -

I have much trouble with most meats, but scallops work great! Enjoy! I always screw them up when I cook them at home. Any of you scallop lovers have cooking methods to share?

I think the name calling was much worse than telling someone to turn off the cap locks and trying to get them back on program when they are already going against Dr.'s orders on day 2 of their pre-op diet. Bob and Brian both have been a great help to me over this past year. He has lost a hell of a lot of weight and he has done much more research than I. He also makes me smile. So, Thank You Bob! It's great to have you in our "little clique" ! -

Did anyone cheat on the pre -op diet
Humming Bird replied to TRACIENEW1217's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree with Leigha and with BT. It is so important to stick with the pre-op diet the surgeon gave you. My surgeon told me of a lady who did not stick to the pre-op diet. When he had her on the operating table, under general anes., surgical team all in place, already inside her, he found that her liver was so think there was no way he could do the surgery. He closed her back up and went out to tell her family member about it. The family member then told him what she had been eating instead of following his pre-op diet.
