Ok, very confused about pureed foods
Humming Bird replied to jamelyn1979's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I never threw anything in the blender that I normally wouldn't ..... just gross. I found plenty of things to eat that were already in that form like apple sauce, yogurt, cream of wheat......... -
Social Life Post Op
Humming Bird replied to NYC_PAULA's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Everyone that I am in those situations with knows I'm banded. That makes it easier for them to understand if I only order a cup of chili. On a hot day I add a Protein bullet to ice Water and take it to sip on. -
Interesting ....... I'll have to ask my husband if my sex hole is tighter. OMG! Maybe I better not! What if it's looser like the rest of my skin!?

opinions from bandster please
Humming Bird replied to agiudice's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If you are eating small meals and not getting hungry too much between meals, you should stay right there for awhile. -

Comment to me with your thoughts!
Humming Bird replied to pt trainer77's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I think it would be great if the surgeon's office offered services like that. I do think it should be an optional service offered and not included in the total package price of their normal services though. In my case, I do not live in the same city as my surgeon's office and would not want to pay for personal trainer's services that I could not use. I can not attend the support groups they offer because of the distance. One reason I think it would be a good idea is because morbidly obese people may need to have their workouts modified in the beginning. Another reason is self esteem/body image issues that make morbidly obese people avoid gym settings. There is no way I would walk in to the local gym looking in the condition I was in 100 pounds ago. I would feel much better about it if I knew someone was there to help with specific and personal needs. -
Liquid Tylenol???
Humming Bird replied to jingleboob's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I use the Jr. strength (double dose) ibuprophen for headaches. It is an NSAID, so don't get in the habit of using it often. I think in the liquid and chewable forms it is not as risky as adult forms of NSAIDS. -
Need help, feel like a failure....
Humming Bird replied to b9409's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Have you had fills ? Do you have restriction? When was the last time you went in for a follow up/fill? There is no way I could eat some of the things on your list due to the amount of restriction I have. -

WOW! Leigha ! Those jeans look great on you! I think this looks like a good goal weight for you too. I would be very happy in a size 11 tall. As I've said before, my skeletal remains are larger than a size 6. -
Thin girl in the mirror... Fat girl in my head!
Humming Bird replied to Rescue3Chick's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I am still waiting for my brain to catch up too. I go to the closet and pick out something I think will fit. When I put it on it is way too large. I'll hold up a shirt and think, "that will be way to tight, but I'll try it on to see how much more I have to lose before I can wear it." Then I put it on and it just hangs so large. -
I'm sorry you are feeling so bad about your choice to be banded. I'm not sure where you are with the process and what you are having trouble with, but would be glad to help you if I can. I did enough research to satisfy myself before surgery, but much less than most people do. It is a learning process no matter how much you know before you get banded. I spoke with several people who had the band before I was banded and my experience is very different. You have the band now so make the most of it and get the excess weight off. Go to support meetings. Come here for support. One of the things that has really helped me along the was is a positive attitude about the whole thing. I hope you are feeling better about it soon.

Advice on strategies for when you want to binge and can't
Humming Bird replied to jenontheband's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I clean house. When I was a child and my mom was mad about something, she cleaned house. We knew that we also better clean house when she was mad. She didn't have to say a word. It was just understood that when mom was pissed, we better grab a broom or dust rag and clean clean clean! -
If you can take 2 weeks it would be really great. It took me a very long time to recover. It's not that I had much pain, but I was just whipped.

banded, banding, bands--verb--To assemble or unite in a group
Humming Bird replied to LeighaMason's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Melody, It sounds like you are feeling a little better about the band in general now? Remember that one of the nice things is that you can adjust your restriction. You can adjust your eating for a bit like it is and a small re-fill is always a option when you are ready. After my little un-fill and re-fill I'm not as tight as I was. I passed my sweet spot for a bit. I have not dropped any real weight in awhile, but I hit the 100# mark. -
You don't have to tell anyone if you don't want to. If you told co-workers, they will let the cat out of the bag anyway. I don't think you are taking enough time off. I hope you are one of the people who bounce back that fast. I was not.

What is your favorite non carbonated beverage?
Humming Bird replied to ladybug on a mission's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'm a big Lipton iced tea drinker (with sweet n low) I make it with good old fashoned tea bags for the best taste. The teas that are pre-made just don't taste very good to me. -

Lap band with other diets?? + shoulder pain.
Humming Bird replied to Eternalx's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It sounds like your left shoulder pain is your "I ate one bite too much signal". It is that last bite or 2 causing pressure to the phrenic nerve. It will go away, but use it to your advantage right now. It can teach you to stop before the pain begins. My left shoulder pain was my full signal for months before it went away. As for using other diet aids, you really won't need them. The band is much more powerful and IMHO easier & healthier. -

What do I do when in bandster hell?
Humming Bird replied to pollywogg's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Bandster Hell is when I was on a "diet". I did have a little restriction, so I could not eat like I did before being banded. A few weeks on a strict diet was ok. I had done it so many other times in my life. This too will pass and you will get some restriction soon. Just ride it out and put your mind in "diet" mode. Congrats on getting banded and starting the process to change your life for the better! -
I think she should call her Dr.'s office so they can track how she's doing and give her help if there is a problem. I was very slow to eat some things, but yogurt and things like it should not cause problems at 3 weeks. I had fatigue for months.
